No worries! Maybe I'm wrong too and it was just a crazy coincidence. It was the 3.5.3 update for me. First update I have had in a looooooong time. Be nice if Ford could get their act together with these updates hey? I also had a failed APIM for a while so was worried that had something to do with it not getting the updates. Full screen Android Auto is pretty sweet!
Unfortunately, that is completely normal. I myself was on 3.5.2 since October and I got tired of waiting for full screen capability to come in so I updated my truck manually in January. I have seen one truck get it 4 times and fail every time, and I have seen countless trucks not get it at all. As of late, Ford has been aggressively sending out 3.5.3 and all the 4.2.x updates that recently came out to many trucks.

Except mine, of course. I think the person that runs @Ford Motor Company account put my VIN on some kind of OTA naughty list as punishment for talking sh*t about them all the time. lol

I tried all the tips/tricks/hacks and nothing would push me over the 3.5.3 hill. The only thing that worked for me was hopping on one leg while patting my head and rubbing my belly in a counterclockwise motion while singing "Kumbaya".

This may also be a coincidence because I was doing all this while manually updating via Rugedraw's loaned mongoose tool. No telling which one did the trick.

I'm glad my humor didn't go completely to waste.

So now that I finally have the 3.5.3 you figure the other ones will come?

Eventually, yes. The trend when 3.5.3 was released is that 3.5.4 was sent to the truck within a few days followed by some small patches numbered 22-PU10xx. Then the 4.2.x updates are next, but you can get the 4.2.x updates without getting the smaller patches.

Unfortunately, I seem to be bucking the trend. Got the 3.5.3.2 Jan 29th, and nothing since then.

OH COME THE FUCK ON. I parked my truck in my garage and turned off the stupid lights like you suggested and son of a bitch if I didn't get a PowerUp notification 3 minutes later.

Edit - I should note that my truck is only half full of gas, so stick it tin foil hats! LOL

Since you seem to know everything I'm sure you can explain why this worked then? No need for stupid comments.
He was taking a satirical skewer to Ford's update process and what levels of insanity we are forced to endure because of it. It was not directed at you.

One thing about Ford's venture into the OTA realm, it has spawned a huge amount of content on the internet!

And, of course, it can get folks fired up. ?

OTA updates are the new heroin.

Are you being serious? or a just being a smart ass?
Because if not turning off the headlights was the missing ingredient this whole time I'm going to be really pissed at ford OTA support.

The only reason I even entertain it is that it falls into my own narrative with OTA updates this week, and I see a lot of stuff Ford does like this on other items so it's not out of the realm of possibility being true.

Oh, it is definitely true that the fluffers that answer the OTA hotline have said to truck owners that having the gas tank full is a good way to ensure you get OTA's sent to you.

I'm dead ass serious @tonesto7 . I parked my truck in my garage like I always do, but this time I turned the lights to "off" from auto and walked away. Seriously 3 mins later I get 4.2.1 in my Fordpass app. I even had @rugedraw check my VIN early in the day on PTS and nothing was there.
