I added a console vault/safe to mine. Fits perfectly, much more secure than the glove box, and doesn't use up a lot of space. Highly recommended, and be sure to get the upgraded lock if you do.

I know such animals exist but sitting in the console, how does it get rid of it's heat?
There's a 2.5" hole that gets drilled in the front wall of the console (there is a plug/cap to close it up if/when you decide to remove it). A fan snaps into the hole and blows the heat from the condenser into the area beneath the shifter. It's not very hot air, nothing warmer than what the HVAC system puts out. I also get asked about a condensate drain a lot. Any condensate that builds up on the inside walls can be wiped out with a paper towel. The walls are the evaporator so when it's running it's just frost. I've never had enough build up that required wiping it out. The one caveat with this install is you lose the 12V socket on the rear of the console. The plug for that socket is used to power the fridge. With the 400W outlet back there, plus the USBs, I can't say I've missed it. I believe the 12V outlet times out 20 minutes after the ignition is turned off (unless changed with Forscan) but the fridge also has a low voltage cut off and goes into standby at 12.0V so it doesn't kill the battery.

A friend constantly travels for his job and has had one version or the other for yrs.

He finds them essential but we won't be at that pace.

Skip the soft sided cooler. I can hook you up with a proper fridge that holds 8 12oz cans or 6 half liter water bottles (or 4 16oz tall boys, maybe 5?). It’s a compressor based unit, doesn’t matter what the temperature is, it will keep your beverages cold. That tray conveniently fits in the compartment above the glovebox if you still want to put it to use.
Is this a new model? I don't see it on the web site. I tried the Gen13 Dometic fridge and it didn't come close to fitting. But I see what look like USB-C ports on yours? Got a link?

It is a new model, the product page on Dometic.com should be going up in the next month or so and the product will be in stock in September. What was pictured was a prototype that I had been testing. Send me a PM if you’re interested in one.

I always have good intentions with it.
Remove a bunch of piled up junk and leave it mostly empty to never using it then having to start all over again cleaning out junk.

Organizing the cavernous console can be quite a daunting task, but it is essential for smooth operations. A well-organized console not only enhances efficiency but also ensures quick access to vital information and resources. Start by categorizing equipment, cables, and supplies into logical groups, using labels and color coding if necessary. Implement cable management systems to prevent tangling and confusion. Create dedicated storage spaces for frequently used items, keeping them within easy reach. Consider utilizing compartmentalized containers and drawer organizers to maximize space utilization. Regularly declutter and maintain the console to uphold the organization. With a methodical approach and attention to detail, taming the cavernous console becomes a manageable and rewarding endeavor.
Thanks ChatGPT. We had no idea!

Link? Looks pretty awesome. How much can it hold?
