This past weekend I changed the oil in my ‘21 PB. When I went to pore out the old oil into a container I noticed some grit in the bottom of the pan. F#$&. So I decided to wash the catch pan with some gas to remove as much oil as I could.

What I found was sand. How in the heck did that get into the engine? Then I realized the sand was not from the engine, but rather from the drip pan under the oil filter. I reached up and could feel sand still there. The sand was washed out when I drained the filter Into the drip pan.
