I'm older and thinking it may be a lot easier on my arthritis if I pull the truck up on ramps to change the oil. Will all the oil drain properly if the front is higher? ('22 PB)

I crawl under from the side just in back of the front wheels. Drain pan and my gut just barely squeaks through

I was looking at new ramps just last night. I got a set of metal ramps that are yellow. I don't remember where I got them but being yellow I'm guess it was part of a Jeg's order back when I was getting stuff for the Explorer. Those Rhino ramps look nice and wide in pictures and with the 360 camera might not even need a spotter to drive up them.

I believe drain plug at rear of pan so you would be helping it drain out.

My driveway has slope down to street, front on ramps is perfect bubble level. I just roll right under on my creeper. ?

I used them for years, albeit on vehicles that weighed much less. I would just jam them right up to the front or rear tires, then slowly crawl up. No need to line up anything really, since they're already lined up.

I also never overshot one accidentally and drove my WRX over the 'safety' lip... :( No damage luckily, other than ego. Getting it back off safely, without further damage wasn't the most fun though.

I haven't used my ramps on the F150 yet because it has a leveling kit but I would think it would be fine. I use them on other vehicles around here. Something else to consider is a Fumoto Valve. Makes life much easier.

These have a rating of 16,600 lbs or something like that. They looked really nice. I've put them on my Dear Santa letter.

I have those same yellow ramps. They are rated at about 2000 lb per ramp Which is a bit on the low side given the weight of the truck.

Have you ever used ramps? I find that they can slide when pushed by a vehicle starting to go up the ramp. Not good for obvious reasons. Also that low vehicles will hit them before the tire meets the ramp. Ok, this one may not an issue with a truck. The ones I used years ago were steel, with rubber block "feet" at the four corners. Maybe others don't have these issues. Because of this I stopped using them and gave 'em away. I'm glad I easily fit under my trucks without any lift. I use jacks and stands on the car.

Put your truck in 4wd to prevent sliding.

Yes, that should help, good point. I still think using ramps is opening up risk for what could be considerable damage. Plus I need a spotter to be safe. That is not always convenient.

Again, glad I fit without any lift!

Just bought these for use with our F150 PB. https://canadiantire.ca/en/pdp/moto...ntenance-ramps-16-000lbs-1-pair-0091540p.html
They work well. 16000 vehicle rating and are 2 piece with a low slope so easy to drive on. The two piece design allows you to pull ramp section away for easy creeper access from the side once up on ramps. Oil plug is right at back of pan so it drains well. The angle does tend to make a mess of draining from the oil filter but I don’t know that the built in tray in the frame is the best design either way.

I would install a gate valve to drain the oil out if you want convenience. The use of ramps does make greasing the front end much easier and this I did with my 2500 diesel truck that needed to be greased every 3,000 miles. No need for the ramps with my F-150.
