Hi folks, any recommendations? I've seen some online but looking for one for '21 Lariat - any recommendations are appreciated.

Unfortunately since auto theft is no longer a crime in Canada I have to add every piece of security I can until the laws change (hopefully next year).

I used to have a port lock. Had to get it shipped to me from a participating dealer. Worked alright, pain in the ass to keep removing it for Forscan and dealer servicing. With theft on the rise the price on them is ridiculous. I have an IGLA device now and that's what I recommend to everybody I know as it blocks relay theft and CANBUS attacks. Insurance gives me a discount for having an IGLA where they wouldn't with a port lock.

Lariats/Black Appearance Packs are pretty susceptible to having their horns cut (and thus alarms rendered disabled) due to the design of the front grill. However, F150 theft rates have plummeted since 2022-2023. Toyota/Lexus are the hot commodity right now.

And yes, auto theft doesn't feel like a crime anymore, and it's especially frustrating to law enforcement. Off the top of my head, 4 out of the 5 times I've come close to getting killed on the job have been with stolen vehicle calls.

Thanks and it gives me reassurance that I'm not the only one that feels this way. Which IGLA device did you get and where did you have it installed? I only have The Club installed right now. Did you go to the one in the video?

Without hijacking the thread to another topic - 100% agree with you and the only solution is a punishment / deterrent based approach.

I have a IGLA 231 and I had the guys at Durham Autohaus install it for me. It was a bit of a hike but they got me sorted out and customer service was great. Car Systems Installation in Toronto was also decent to deal with, Durham just got me in at a time that worked better for me.

In September 2019 we had a "progressive" reform of our bail laws take effect. Between that and COVID it's gone to complete crap.

Vote like your life, and your kids life, depends on it.

we are all seeing how the selective enforcement of the criminal code penalizes everyone.

In the US, border laws are meaningless, but if you bring the wrong air conditioning gas without approval, the full weight of the federal govt will get you.

anyways, I hope you find a good solution to your antitheft question.

Crime has no penalties and law enforcement is getting burned out.

Well - the likely new Government has promised bail reform.

Crime like this was unheard of in Canada 10 years ago.
