If I point to the stg file it's grayed out. I'm assuming that I'm selecting the import button right?
I did rename the file with the stg extention on my phone using built in file manager. I will try using my laptops file manager to make the change and see if I get better results.

Yes, others on the forum have downloaded the file, changed the extension to stg, opened OBDLink, gone to settings, clicked the eclipse, chose import, pointed at the file, selected what properties they wanted from the file, and wallah.

Most have had to do some minor editing of placement unless they had identical resolution to the Samsung S21.

Uggg. The electronic gods are against me. Now I lost bt connection to the obd mx+. I spent hours trying to reset to factory settings. Get it to hook to my phone then loose it when I add the sync4.
Back to the problem where obd won't recognize the new stg file. What file manager app did you use to rename? Last night I used a Samsung built in app and missed that it just amended the extension. Obdford*.pdf.stg.
I emailed my self the file you provided and I opened it in windows and did the rename and mailed it back to my phone. Once I get this stupid obd device working again I have high hopes. I have the s10 and it's the same resolutions as your s21.
I did finally get the fuse jumper hack to keep the wire less phone charger active at all times. And I always force at least one USB port powered at all times.
If anyone wants to know it's fuse 3 in passenger foot well . I make a short molex jumper with a 7 amp fuse holder and jump from a constant 12v source to one of the terminals where the original fuse was.
It's simply amazing how many old phones I laying around.

No need to be connected to the MX or the Sync
You can do this in your living room. :)

I use the native Samsung "my files" app. And yea, you gotta watch out for the file extension edit to remove the pdf entirely. Only one extension. ".stg"

Ya I know I don't need to connect to rename. It's just that once I renamed and pointed to the renamed file in obd app the file was grayed out. Meaning that something happened to the file that obd didn't like.

Sweet!!! I finally got the obd connected along with sync4.
I also got the stg file loaded. I was making a big mistake. I was trying to import pids using the setting menu. Not until you mentioned to use the eclips buttons. I tried them b4 but all I saw was .bin expecting .stg so I moved on quickly. Thanks for putting up with me

Luckily my formatting is spot on with yours. Going to be a different story when I move all this to a tablet.
I'm curious why you feel having spark, oar, kr and iat2 in your infobank. Are you using a tune?
How do you parse the information?

Lol. I have a special truck. 128 gears in reverse and 70 in park and 130 neutral gears.

I'm an Ecoboost nerd and do have a well "tuned" Ecoboost in my recent history. So I am just accustomed to monitoring how happy the combustion chamber is as well as if I'm getting what I paid for from the gas station. :)

I also believe that Ford's 10r80 shift strategy can be way too aggressive chasing fuel economy and at times is dancing on the edge of lugging. Those pids will reveal those situations and I will simply drop 1 or 2 gear ratios to be nice to the motor.

Yep, yaw got it.

The KR pid and Spark Advance pid are very much complimentary to each other. And then the OAR pid basically verifies what the other two are implying. :)

I originally had the timing advance set to a max range of 32°
You can see that I hastily increased it recently to 40°, but didn't adjust the gauges graphics to match the new range. The reason is that I had been experimenting with adding a few gallons of E85 to my typical 93 octane fillups. It's a 30 gallon tank, so depending on how low it is at fillups, I would add maybe 3-4 gallons of E85, ensuring that I was well below E20, knowing that the factory calibration could easily manage and adjust to the proper fueling.
As a result the truck would often peg the spark gauge at 32°! That's amazing.

Anyways, if you watch the knock-sensors data (KR) it is directly driving/influencing the amount of timing advance that the pcm is commanding. It's all very fluid, of course, and so very much a moving target.
The OAR being at -1 is just confirmation that the timing table in play is the highest advanced table available in Ford's timing table database.
If you were to switch to say... 89 octane, you would see the KR start showing +positive values (between 0-6) and the timing advance would get dialed back. After a few minutes of such a circumstance, the engine management would switch completely to a different timing table (less aggressive) and the OAR value will adjust to something like -.76
Switch to 87 octane and you'll see the ensemble of pids reflect the results similarly.

It's an amazing motor. It'll tell you exactly what's going on. :)
I do the exact same thing with the e85. Completely offsets shitty fuel as well.

Exactly.
And although I live in the land of 93, I've got proof they are not all the same. And on a couple of occasions I believe that I may have been getting snookered with a lower grade altogether.

A splash of 3 or 4 gallons in a 30 gallon tank definitely props up those timing tables. This truck and the torque management loves the minor cocktail.

I enjoy the sharing of dashboards and all this techie stuff. I took one of Bruce's earlier dashboards and made a few adjustments for my iPhone as well as adding some 12 volt system data so I could see what's going in and out of the 12v battery, I will try to share this one in case anyone is interested. The stg -> pdf ->stg can be troublesome. Hopefully I got it right to post. It would be nice if .stg was allowed and we could set up a thread dedicated to sharing dashboards.
The other thing I am experimenting with is the data logging function. You just pick your PID's of interest and it saves a file every time you drive. Then you can export to excel, do a deeper dive into the data and graph out whatever you are interested in.

I love it!
I'm going to follow YOU this time and add that 12V monitoring as well. Really good idea on these trucks.

I assume you tagged those in the BMS module?
