I thought I was going to be one of those people posting about howy f150 saved my life for a split second, but instead of I'm just posting on how it almost killed me. First off, I love my truck - 2023 tremor V8. I do, however, never get above 15 mpg and have a sound that I THINK is from the front diff and I haven't had time to get it looked at.

Anyway, I was driving yesterday and basically coasting because I was waiting for a gap in the lane to my left to change lanes. The gap came and I hit my gas pedal. At this point I'm not halfway between lanes and the cars in my original lane have stopped due to a public bus stop. My truck literally did nothing when I hit my gas pedal. It didn't rev like it wasn't in gear, it didn't do anything, like I'm not even pushing the gas. I slammed on my brakes and went back to my original lane. No accidents but scared the crap out of me. Now I am concerned it could happen again. Anybody have any thoughts on this? I'm still under warranty, but I don't even know where to begin...

Thank you!

Mine does the same thing, I've driven other Ford/Lincoln vehicles that do it. However, these trucks are particularly bad. I think its got something to with with Trans tuning, because when mine does it, it always kicks down a gear or 3 when it finally wakes up.

Did any warning flash on the dash when it happened? I had an STX service loaner that did that several times under the same conditions. The dash would quickly flash something in orange each time but it disappeared so fast I couldn't read it when the pedal went dead.

Was auto start stop turned on or off
Good you didn't have a wreck
I have a loaner 24 f150
It does this if auto start stop is not OFF
Especially coasting up to a stop sign...it pauses longer than I think it should before it starts.
I was so used to it being off in my 22

That I easily forget to turn it off in the loaners vehicles

Nope nothing on my dash at all. It's almost like my truck just had a complete brain fart

On my model of 2023 start/stop was deleted due to chip shortages (win for me  )

Interesting. Yeah, mine didn't change gears, no engine rev, nothing. To the point I had the pedal on the floor and truck acted like I didn't touch the pedal. I was surprised when I started moving again that it was acting normal.

That happens in my '21 occasionally. Oddly enough, it's always in the same exact location. Hard to believe it's an environmental thing, but who the heck knows anymore.

I've had this same experience with my '19 and now '23 F150. Both 5.0l 4WD Crew cabs. The '23 is definitely worse than the '19. Changing lanes in traffic, having to give it some heavy pedal to flow into the gap, and... nothing happens. Scares the crap out of me. I've had to bail on the move or cause an accident more than once. Usually 10 to 30kmph, hit the gas, and nada. No go. Dead pedal. No revs. No dash warnings. It's not a stumble; it just acts like the pedal is disconnected. If you can wait it out a few seconds it will come to life, rev up, drop a few gears and do a scalded rabbit launch.
Very unsettling when it happens.

These trucks have drive-by-wire throttles. As an initial check, I would get down there and check that the pedal plug is fully seated.

This right here. This is exactly it. I don't know if I feel better or worse that I'm not alone

If ever there was a screamingly bad safety problem this is it. Ford's nuts need to be held to the fire on this; "we can't replicate it " or "it's normal" need to not be accepted as answers.

For real... You know if I got into an accident, all of the blame would go on me. There would be no Ford taking fault for the pedal not doing anything.
