I’m in the exact same situation. And with a borrowed mongoose. So I might be SoL. Updated everything Friday/Saturday. Finished yesterday afternoon and after, neither work.

Both the ford Nav and SiriusXM aren’t connecting, but were working fine before the updates.
If you have access to FORScan, check for DTCs and see if you are getting the same ones. If so, you can try clearing them and resetting both the APIM and the TCU with FORScan and see if it helps. It might also go away on its own. Comms errors often do.

I have a borrowed Mongoose. I’ll see what I can do.

Not sure if this is actually true or not (I’ve never had to resort to a Master Reset on my APIM) or if Ford is giving itself excuses when systems lose connectivity, but I found this unfortunate disclosure in the Sync FAQs:

CAN I RESET MY SYNC?

Yes, you can perform a Master Reset on your SYNC system by following the details outlined here.*
*SYNC 4: Upon software reset Connected Navigation is unavailable for two weeks after reset.

It warns you of that when you use the option. I did master reset the day I picked up my truck because it had tons of random phones and other things in settings. It synced with Ford Pass almost immediately and used the navigation to go home as an experiment on two hour drive.

I suppose YMMV and it's possible it really does take days to reconnect in some cases.

From what I recall the Sirius didn't come back until I was already at home so I did see a delay on that part. I don't have subscription so didn't care we were listening to radio whole trip.

I did the master reset yesterday and I have also reset TCM and GWM. The DTCs I had were that my APIM lost comms with TCU and vice versa. 2 weeks of no NAV after a factory reset is ridiculous. That makes no sense.
Also, I cleared the DTCs and rechecked and there were none, but still no GPS or Sirius signals.

Ridiculous or not, it might be worth waiting a couple of weeks before going into your dealer. If you aren’t showing any DTCs (which is progress because at least the TCU and the APIM are back to talking to one another), the dealer might not tell you anything useful other than to wait and then you will have wasted the trip.

No disrespect to the person who suggested the 2 week wait. I just think it's crazy if Ford set things up that way. My dealer is close by. No biggie for me to stop there. I'm at least gonna here what they have to say and maybe it will help someone else here. I got emails from Ford yesterday after the reset and I reconnected Ford pass. The emails started that my blue cruise was active and my nav was active. My app will still talk to my truck and start it, unlock it, etc. This is just another update with a bug. Very common for Ford these days.

I might be in same boat soon as I'm working on updates with FDRS.

I think the dealer answer will be master reset and wait two weeks but I'm curious what you find out.

I think others are just suggesting that the average dealership has less to offer as a solution than the experienced collective of this very forum. History certainly records such.

Or put another way, the dealership doesn't have a special tool(s) or as much exposure to Gen14 F150's.

I personally believe the 2-week thing is a cya disclaimer that probably exceeds the average time it takes for whatever automated work flow that exists.

I’m not sure how widespread the problem is. I did the same four updates (GWM, APIM, GWM, TCU) via FDRS about two weeks ago. No issues.

Does anyone know how to reapply the sync update once it has been installed?

If USB stick it in again?
I did have to do that on one of my APIM updates. FDRS said it was missing something. Put stick in again for screen to tell me it's already installed, but when FDRS looked again it found what it wanted. ?‍♂

I just tried that and I got the already installed message on the screen. Nothing in FDRS.

I have an appt at the dealer on Monday to address this.

Oh, and I did an APIM diagnostic through FDRS. It said there was one thing not right. Didn't say what that was, but did say, replace unit.

We all spent a bunch of money to deal with quality control like this. It sucks. Ford should have taken their time and got it right.

Same thing happened to me. I pushed 4.2.4 via Mongoose on Sunday - no GPS or XM. I am going to give it some time, but it is frustrating.

I already cleared the usb stick, as I had other updates to do before I realized that there was an issue

Ok. I saw a rep from Ford on this forum and I messaged her. She responded and asked for some info. She then created a case for me and it got assigned to a Ford agent. That agent called me today. I told her my situation and that I had an appt at Ford on Monday coming up. She told me that a TSB was just issued on this matter. Apparently, in the APIM update there is an update to Blue Cruise. She wasn't positive it was in the APIM update, but she was positive that in one of the updates applied, the Blue Cruise update is what is causing the issues with GPS and Sirius signals. This alert just came out from Ford in the last couple of weeks. The updates were made available to trucks that they shouldn't have. Something about 21's vs 22's. Anyway, she said she would contact the dealer I'm bringing it to on Monday morning after I drop it off. She's is also going to call me to let me know what is happening. But the important thing is that they know about it and are fixing it. I will update as I know more.
