Alexa has become a member of the family. And I blame Ford for it too.

I knew, kinda, what Alexa was before I got the truck a few years back. But I wasn't someone who had embraced any kind of digital assistant at that point. Since she came enabled on the truck, I dabbled with her lightly. Mostly verbal requests for "routing", which uses the native navigation. And I also really enjoyed her being a disk jockey for for music.

Things progressed as my grandchildren, who are in my vehicles almost every day, just took to her naturally and she answers the strangest questions that they ask her.

"Alexa, how long does it take to walk to the moon?", for example. ?
Just FYI, at 3.7mph, it's a little over 7 years. ?

Fast forward to today and there's an Echo Dot in the RV. I can be brushing my teeth and be near the end of the tube of toothpaste. "Alexa, add toothpaste to the grocery list"

So yeah, if you embrace such a thing, and add the Ford skill to her repertoire? Combined with the Echo Dot, smartphone, tablet, watch, truck....... She's there as a Copilot for so many things.

Alexa used 3.7mph and non-stop walking.
I think she knows that nobody is going to walk to the moon, so no reason to accommodate rest stops.

I really wasn't trying to spend your money, but it IS Black Friday season, and gadget deals can be found easy enough. ?

I act purchased the watch because of the release of the FordPass Watch app.
Didn't know much about them but read an article that was fairly convincing that if your smartphone is a Samsung, then the Samsung watch just makes sense. If the smartphone isn't a Samsung, then there are other Android watches to consider.

I'm already a wrist watch wearer.
I purchased the previous model Samsung Galaxy 6 Classic. It's big enough for my old geezer eyesight and I gotta admit that it works wonderfully just as a watch! All the nerdy stuff it can do is just a bonus.

I wear an auto winding mechanical watch.. It has one job.. Tells me time! I am afraid I will have to keep pulling out my phone for all the cool things you all get on your smartwatches... ???

I’ve been using Siri voice control on my 21 PB for a couple of years now. It’s really cool to be able to start and unlock the truck while coming off trail on my mountain bike, or skiing.

Ford offers API access now. So maybe it's time to update my widget to support it until Ford gets their act together.

In their defense, they are investigating adding widget support to the new v5 app.

Any chance of this happening? ?

The current fordpass widget is terrible/doesnt really show anything

You don't even know the half of it, just wait until you get some wifi light bulbs/AC thermostat etc. If you haven't figured it out already, you can also set it up to use the Fordpass app to start your truck.

Hopefully they'll upgrade it with some generative AI (it was supposed to happen last year i thought), I feel like this will improve it greatly.

5.10.0 just showed up for my android... Still no add service records. I see no change between 9.0 and 10.0 that I can see. No PB truck.

Have you tried clearing your app cache to get the "add" to show up? It showed up for me on 9.0.

I just received 10.0 as well, I don't see any changes either

Just did... Still not showing... Will wait a bit and see if it shows up. It's late to the party...just like my OTA's....lol
