Hi F-150 owners! If you recently updated your FordPass® app, you may have noticed it looks a little different. We are pleased to share that we have rolled out a newly designed app.

It is easy to use and efficient, reducing the number of steps it takes to access functions to help you better manage your vehicle remotely. Also, instead of having to hold down a button to turn the vehicle ‘on’, this is now a simplified slider.

Additionally, if you have an Apple Watch, along with lock/unlock and remote start/stop, you will also be able to use the following features from your wrist:
  • Activate horn and lights remotely
  • View vehicle location
  • View fuel level and range, for gasoline-powered vehicles
  • View fuel level, battery and range, as well as total combined, for hybrid vehicles
We are also continuing to improve in-app experience with this latest version. If you notice a feature you previously used before is no longer there, don’t worry, the feature can still be accessed via your in-vehicle touchscreen.

We love to hear from our owners so let us know what you think and if you have any questions about FordPass!

EDIT (5/28/24):
Many of you had additional questions, so we wanted to provide some supplemental information about the newly designed FordPass app. Some of your exact features may vary depending on your vehicle model.
  • All about service: To reach the service dashboard, click the tool icon on the bottom right of your screen. You will find a vehicle health status list that includes the odometer reading, oil life for gas-powered vehicles, and tire pressure. If you’d like to add your vehicle service history, this can be done via Ford.com.
  • Trip Planning: While there’s no trip planning feature in FordPass right now, you can still use your in-vehicle touchscreen to access this feature. We’re exploring a simpler, more reliable version of this feature for FordPass.
  • Google Maps: To turn your Google Maps consent on or off, go to your Account settings, then Legal & Privacy, then Privacy.
  • Beep Beep: To reach the horn and lights feature, go to the location section right on the front screen.
  • Lock from anywhere: To tell if the vehicle is locked or unlocked, just click on your desired lock/ unlock state. The vehicle will then confirm “locked” or “unlocked” with a green check.
  • Tailgate party: Depending on your vehicle’s capability, Phone As A Key™ Bluetooth controls for the windows, trunk/frunk, and tailgate are found in the "Bluetooth Controls" menu right alongside all your other primary controls.
  • Add a friend: If your Ford vehicle is already connected in FordPass, you can find and manage any new vehicle user access requests by selecting your vehicle in the app, then selecting Vehicle Details. From there, you can approve or deny any new user access requests.
Please note: FordPass® App, compatible with select smartphone platforms, is available via a download. Message and data rates may apply.

Who in their right mind would like any release of an app that is supposed to be better than the previous version and have a more robust feature set. This update takes us back to rubbing sticks together to make fire like a caveman.

You took away a bunch of functionality. I suppose the next thing in line is you'll want to charge us for the very same features that you took away from us. Come on! This app is friggin ridiculous. I like others perform a lot of maintenance myself. There is no way to document this. Perhaps I can pay you a monthly subscription fee so you will allow me to do so! I'm beside myself!

Ford offers API access now. So maybe it's time to update my widget to support it until Ford gets their act together.

In their defense, they are investigating adding widget support to the new v5 app.
Logged into my updated app and your widgets were first thing I thought of.

Thanks for everything you’ve done, even if you don’t update your widgets, they were an amazing utility for the community.

Please give us back the ability to see the fuel level, not just the range. It’s silly that our Mach-E can still give us the battery level but our F-150 has lost the ability to do the fuel version of the same.

Looks like they revamped the website too.

I am able to add entries under the “Service History” quick link in the vehicle
Dashboard, many things that went away in the app will probably come back with updates.

It would appear you’re right about “selling” us some subscriptions. I’m seeing expiration dates for some “trial” subscriptions like BlueCruise that I hadn’t previously seen.

I’m not too crazy about the “unlockable” features, but I knew going in BlueCruise was a separate subscription.

Unreal! So Ford effectively had thousands of users as their lab rats, now pay? Not a snow balls chance in hell. I don't expect them to actually read any of this, but come on man.

Honestly, this is now the most useless app I have. Way to go Ford. They have taken away pretty much everything that made the app useful. Why even have the app installed now? Except for the occasional remote start I really see no use for it. Only Ford can be so excited about an app that does nothing. Maybe they figure the problems they have with their cars will not be as glaring if the app is worse. Who knows though. Bottom line it sucks.

2021 F-150 King Ranch PowerBoost - no longer have this.
I keep looking at the updated app and trying to find a reason for its existence. Seriously, I cannot find one single thing that I would actually use it for.

There are a few things which others might use but not that I'm likely to ever use.

After years of having the old app I'm considering deleting the new version entirely.

If you delete the app be sure to find the actual telematic module location that allowed you to do all the things you have come to know and love and unplug it! Physically unplug it so Ford is no longer able to gather data.

You probably have to do that from the screen on the interior of the truck now... :p

Ford has consistently responded to all the complaints about location on Google Play Store reviews. So at least they recognize that we are irritated about that.

It does work but the UI sucks. Tap button takes forever to load maybe 30 seconds with no feedback that it is doing anything. All they need is a spinning icon or something. Really it is common for every button to take up to 30 seconds to do something so this isn't anything new.
Alternative would be to store the location in some useful way so it can load immediately. Should be possible to do this since the old app would load with last location until refreshed.

Location appears to be working for me again, it got noticably better about 24 hrs ago

Consistently slow here.
It will load, just not in a hurry.
I usually tap the button half dozen times impatiently then map pops up. ?‍♂

I can't tell any difference, other than version number. Maybe after we finish beta testing 5.x, they'll add some features back to 6.x though.
