I’m in no rush being one of the first batch of customers to come in for this. You want to be in the sweet spot of where the techs are familiar with the process and its peculiarities but before they get into finding bullshit shortcuts or have done it so many times before that they just zone out and can’t remember if it’s your truck they just torqued or the one the same color that they did last week 😵

I was the second customer to show up and have my axles ordered (according to the service dept). The service manager was the first to have his completed though. I asked if the same tech that worked on the manager's pickup would work on mine. They said he was the only one in that day that would be able to do it. That made me feel better. Having new axles just made for one less thing to worry about when I took off for Colorado last month.

I can confirm that Ford is now shipping trucks from the factory with the new nut design. My truck was built the last week of July 2025. I finally got around to replacing the one time use disposable OEM lug nuts with McGard's, so I pulled the rear wheel and took this pic.

Sorry for the same reply in so many threads - but there are so many threads on the same topic - haha. I'll stop posting now before I get yelled at :)

Why do your rear disc brakes have a pitted look?

Well, I'm going to blame that one on myself!! Its probably slight rusting. I'm building a garage and I ordered the truck estimated to come in after the garage completion. Well, the truck came in a couple months earlier than expected. My garage completion is a couple months behind schedule. So my brand new F150 that I have had for a month now has been driven twice. It is sitting in a non-climate controlled storage pole barn I rent across town from the house. So I assume that surface rust will all come flying off on her next spin down the road!
