New 2024 KR powerboost Stop safely now

I would have thought that Ford would have worked out the bugs by now, but apparently not. On my way home from work on my truck with 560 miles the engine shut off and I got a Stop Safely now messages. I was able to get pulled over, shut the truck off and let it reset and drove home OK after that. I guess I now have to take a brand new truck to the dealer to work on it. Very frustrating because the 2021 Platinum PB that I traded in for this truck ran flawlessly for me. Also frustrating is that the Sync 4 is still buggy 3 years after is was first released. At random times the apple car play will connect but I cant play music or phone through car play. If I shut it completely off and restart it will usually work.

What’s the latest consensus on this issue? Drive it longer and see if it h again, or take it to the dealer for service.

Do you have a way to read the codes? Forscan, etc?

I’d do that before messing with the dealer. That’s what they will do first and if there’s no codes then they really won’t do anything

I do have a mongoose because I had to get my 2021 past the OTA update failure myself. Can forscan read fault codes? I haven't really used forscan and dont want to pay for another FRDS license.

Most SSN clear on key cycle. Odds aren't good there's anything there w/out MIL.

On April 6th I got OTA 23-PU1009-SS-NS. Part of the description is that it updates the PCM to prevent a possible "Stop Safely Now" message. Mine is a '22 and has never had that issue. Not sure if the update would be applicable to your truck or not, but it's a thought.

I thought most of the “stop safely now” messages were mostly on first start not while actually driving..

I had one around the same mileage as you, within the first week of ownership but it hasn’t happened again.

I have a 21 Platty EB. no issues except for an occasional glitch from Sync 4. I’m going to keep my truck for a few more years. I was toying with the idea of trading in my 21 for a 24., but I’m keeping my 21 .
