If the camera did actually die somehow it is thankfully the cheapest one on truck, around $50 for CHMSL camera.
yes..These go bad.. Ive seen a couple others.
Especially in the heat and where they are located.. Mine has gone out and come back. THe intermittent issue has happened to even more people. THe only other thing it could be is the IPMA and that is highly unlikely.
Although the cargo cam has a dedicated fuse so you can check it but if its blown it still means a new cam will be needed

Mine started doing the same thing as @fordhouston. Sometimes it would work but most of the time it was just a blue screen. So I had the dealer look at it when it was in for the rear axle recall. They replaced the camera because the coating on the lens cover was coming off and then spent two days (9.5 hours) updating and re-calibrating the IPMA and PSCM modules, re-calibrated the backup and 360 cam alignment several times as well as BLIS, park sensors, and lane keeping. All to clear codes B152E and B1518 which kept returning and apparently was causing the CHMSL camera to cut out intermittently. Good thing it was under warranty cause that would have been expensive.
I also bought a spare CHMSL camera since it was only $35 before Ford decices to jack the price up 500% like they did on the side mirror cams.
