Nah
Hello.

I’ve been doing a ton of research (I am not good with vehicles or mechanical work) But I just recently purchased a 25 Lariat Powerboost with 3k miles on it. Thing is bad to the bone.

But I’ve noticed that while im going from 3rd to around 2nd or below, I feel a small jolt. It’s nothing that throws me around, it’s subtle but noticeable.

what I have found online is that my transmission is possibly having an issue, that this is normal for Fords 10 speed automatic transmission, and the torque converter is sgressive for fuel efficiency. I’m taking it get serviced tomorrow.

Not sure what to make of it, people here seem to very knowledgeable about these vehicle and just looking for insight. Thanks!

Is it switching from battery to ICE when you feel the jolt? Only on battery or ICE?

You bought it used with 3k miles, or you bought it new and put 3k miles on it? It is important because the truck does take some time to learn your driving habits and how to shift. If you got it used, for example, you could have that learning process reset so it learns your habits. If you bought it new, maybe resetting it and starting over could be an option as well.

They classified it as “new” because it was used as a courtesy vehicle through the dealership. How do I go about resetting it?

2023 PB 501a 4x4 short bed 7.2KW. PL=1658lbs.
If the tach says 0, the ICE engine is off, if it says anything else, its on.

3K miles is nothing. The truck is still breaking in. Including the trans. Its liable to smooth out by the time the 5K mile oil change interval comes around. If not, have them check it then.

Like Dave said if the tach is at 0 and truck is moving

also under features in the sync screen you can go to power flow and see when it’s ICE or electric driving

Unfortunately that screen is absent from '24+ models for whatever reason.

@tpbepa in addition to the RPM gauge, you can switch to the EV coach display under the MyView gauges to have a better idea of what the truck is doing in relation to Regen braking, electric driving, etc... I use that screen 90% of the time when driving, even after almost a year of ownership, to help maximize the hybrid system's potential.

I knew the best mod I’ve ever done was getting rid of the fake “engine” noise and backup beep delete

you’ll know when it’s in ICE or electric then 😂

Should be able to add the screen back with Forscan. I believe it’s just disabled on the APIM. Possibly because they didn’t refresh the truck that is displayed. It’s the 21-23MY image.

Not saying this is your problem but we are starting to see some internal transmission pumps on explorer hybrids that are going out and when it switches from gas to hybrid while stopped at a light the car will lurch forward while foot is on the brake still.

I did notice it a little while first taking off on one of our cars.

I am not a mechanic this is what I am being told by the shops that send out or cars to ford for warranty work.
