You only need the splitter if you want nav and satellite radio. If only adding Sirius, you need the ACM, a female to female curry colored FAKRA (or one labeled universal) adapter at least 15” long, and antenna LC3Z-19A390-F for the passenger side.
Maybe a dumb question but when I look at the antenna PN that looks just like the covers that are on the roof now on each side. Are the ones there now just dummy covers with nothing in them?

It’s an entire assembly, not just a cover. To my knowledge all trucks have at minimum a cellular/GPS antenna on the right and a navigation GPS antenna on the left. The other antenna option is only the Sirius/cell antenna on the right. This is the base cell/gps version. The blue GPS plug connects to the TCU instead of being used for the APIM.

Thanks!

On the ACM can you see the PN with out pulling it out or do you have to remove it to see if it has a SiriusXM number. Working up the courage to start prying on the speaker screen to check.

Cleaned up the OP to hopefully help everyone.

Easiest way is Forscan. Someone could also run the VIN for you in one of the VIN check threads.

Thanks for the updated info! One last question how has the antenna under the speaker grill been working? That’s probably what I’ll do to start till I get more time to go the other route.

So far fine but my commute is east/west and there are few very trees around here. I can see it potentially being an issue in other terrain which is why I say go ahead and get the OEM antenna and just pay the price once.

Very easy to get to the ACM.

For a tool I used a non-serrated small knife meant for Cheese spreads and dips.

I used this video to Remove the ACM I only removed the top speaker grill and tray. It removed with out having to undo the face trim. Have not reinstalled but there is a lip on the tray that goes under the face trim.

If you notice his first step is removing the face trim, but when he removes the dash tray the face trim is on!! I went for it and it worked.

Bad editing?

He goes on to Screen removal the APIM is behind it.,

Messed up on my Forscan 2 month trial, entered the hardware ID incorrectly, got error message that the key did not match hardware id so requested a new one and waiting.

Success !

changed the
7D0-01-01 from 0001 to 2001 and…

Ford F-150 MY22 Adding SiriusXM D1C32433-1035-4613-9314-B83311587EBC

Have A 3’ FAKRA z from Amazon arriving today will let all know how that goes. Think 1.5’ would be perfect but could not locate one. Worry a bit if the end of the plug will be too squashed against the duct, angle plug would be the best, could only find straight will follow up..

There’s plenty of room so not really a concern. Did you get an OEM antenna?

Not yet, next thing to order.

We have a nonprofit in town that sells donated tech equipment , was going to see if they have a magnetic style floating around to use in the short term.

I do have a question for you, in your edited post #1 you mentioned:

"Change the following lines in FORSCAN:

7DO-01-01 *xxx-xxxx-xx This value went from 8 to A. Yours may vary just make sure to enable SDARS .

727-01-01 *xxx-xxxx-xx This value went from 0 to 3. Same as before, enable SDARS but check your as-built FIRST"

Everything I had for the APIM began 7DO, I did not see any 727, thoughts?

Hey thanks so much for your help with this!

I think you may be correct, will give it a try tomorrow.

XLT22 you may know this trick, but i just came across it in doing some research on FORSCAN!

If you go to https://www.motorcraftservice.com/AsBuilt

Enter your vin it will give you every as built code for you vehicle. So if you mess with FORSCAN and make change and can't remember what you did you have a base line reference to go back to.

But you can enter a vin for any vehicle, get the codes and compare to yours perfect if you are trying to add something your vehicle did not have.

So I went to a dealer's site got the vin of a 2023 xlt with XM not deleted, (start stop still was) entered
and entered the vin.

What came up for 727-01-01 was
Ford F-150 MY22 Adding SiriusXM BFB7F69E-1B1B-4BDA-8603-002651E51C60

So XLT22 you sound spot on!

Thank you again!

The B threw me everyone talks about going down 2 or up 2 guess it is not always so.

Also, yes plenty of room for the straight FAKRA.

Great write up, i couldn’t get a good signal from using an inside ant. I switched the factory one and it’s perfect. Left the blue disconnected for now.
I added nav but as a side effect of adding the 12’ screen. Don’t really use it but nice to have I just don’t have search as I didn’t change the values in for scan yet.
