There is nav. I’m not interested in satellite radio at the moment so just did the apim. Went backwards in version though ?

Don’t have fdrs to manually update so will see what happens. Also want to work on the oem antenna yet. Using a cheap Amazon gps antenna and it’s not super accurate and clearly it was in the wrong orientation as I started driving 'off road' per the nav.

Did you wind up needing to pull the console back to get to the APIM? You don't need to remove the screen for the ACM, just the center speaker if you have it and the plastic tray on the top dash pocket.

I have a 40/20/40. I did pull the lower center stack.

Of interest now when I set my cruise it gives me the speed of the road I am on. I did not have that before the nav apim.

If you have any suggestions on the oem antenna I’d take the help. Not sure if just doing nav if I’d need a new antenna or just the jumper to connect to what’s behind the glove box.

As far as I know the driver side antenna is the same on nav vs non nav trucks. I haven’t explored much to see where the wire from it goes. My guess would be it connects to the TCU instead of the passenger side antenna but that’s just a guess. The splitter for the glove box connection should have you all set if you’ve upgraded the passenger antenna to the Sirius/Cellular unit. The wire terminated at the glove box won’t have any signal until you do that.

I am going to try a splitter on that mustard connector behind the glove box and see if I can get GPS from that. As best I can see, there is only one drivers side antenna. There appears to be two passenger antenna, one with satellite and one without. So if not adding in satellite right now, I shouldn’t need to replace that antenna (I hope). I’ll know more later in the week/next week.

If one adds the acm, what are the three connectors on the bottom left. Some have mentioned two connectors. Anyone know the difference?

Curry is for SiriusXM, Black is AM/FM and the White is an unused digital antenna for overseas markets.
Make sure you have your Left/Right orientation correct. Right side is passenger side and either has a GPS/Celluar antenna or a Cellular/GPS/SiriusXM antenna. You’ll need to purchase the correct antenna for it to work.

If that connector at the glovebox wasn’t connected from the factory, I’m 99% sure it isn’t connected at the C pillar.

Yup, I can't remember the exact wording on the white connector from PTS but its a secondary FM antenna for non NA markets pretty much used to transmit certain data, +DAB.

Looks like you went ahead and tried the swap. I know we talked about what to get on the other forum, but it's message system is so archaic I can't even find what I sent you, or if it even ever did get sent. I know I listed out to get the splitter adapter behind the glove box, along with the correct right hand roof antenna, but that should be all you need. But I think we did discover that you should already have the correct right hand antenna as there is only one really to get.

ML3Z-10E928-AA is the splitter you need. I hooks to the mustard behind the glove box and then gives you the blue for the APIM and another mustand for the ACM sat radio if I'm correct.

I did order the splitter late last week. It’s now just a question if the right sided antenna will give me the gps or not (for now). Don’t have FDRS so looking to get that to update to most current software as well. It took about a half hour to make the swap of the apim so not bad at all. I didn’t even look at the ACM. On a good note, I think this will correct the speed issue for the acc add as well.

Curious if the above poster got his to work as it had the curry/mustard plug already. It’s all so crazy trying to track it all.

This is great to know as this has been a hangup on the ACC side of things and adding it back and then trying to get IACC/TSR working as well. We were about 99% sure it needed a Nav APIM but were trying about everything else under the sun first. @PFXLT

Good deal. You should be good on the antenna for now, like said before the only difference in it is with or less Sat Radio pretty much. The splitter you got is for Nav and Sat Radio. But if you are swapping the ACM as well and want Sat Radio, then you'll need a LC3Z-19A390-F right hand antenna for certain.

I was worried about the APIM software part as well. A buddy of mine just picked up a new 22 and is wanting to add Nav, but getting a second hand 21 Nav APIM I was worried about older software on it as well and if that would be hard to get updated. Mainly due to what version is reported on the server side versus what is actually installed in the truck, but that's a whole other topic/threat.

The existing right side antenna is a GPS antenna, but it’s not connected to the curry plug at the back of the cab so you’ll have no signal at the glovebox. Non Sirius/nav trucks only have the burgundy cellular and blue TCU/GPS plugged in at the back of the cab.

If you want to “rig” it up, you may be able to get a cheap universal extension to connect the LEFT side antenna if it’s currently not being used over to the rear passenger female curry FAKRA.

I was confused at first but I see it now. Haha
I haven’t added my ccm yet, hopefully I’ll have everything needed by the end of this week. I did make changes to get the speed sign recognition working. My speed sign have always showed up but only what was pulled from the apim. Then I made the changes in the ipc and ipma and I’d only get a speed sign when I passed one and it’d stay for a minute or so then disappear. I had a dtc in the ipma for no comm to the apim so I went through the sheet and enabled the iacc/TSR in the apim. No issues as long as I don’t try to toggle away from normal cruise. Speed signs seem to work normal now. I get a limit as soon as I turn on a street and it changes if I pass a different sign. Hopefully the green box and intelligent cruise comes through once I get the ccm installed and setup

I've read threw this thread a few times and may be more confused now than before. I've seen several part numbers for antennas and splitters. Could someone confirm which ones I need.

I have a 22 XL, no nav, no SXM, 8" screen.

I'm going to buy a ACM from ebay with SXM, no HD radio.

I'll need a cable from the glove box area to the ACM (splitter cable?) and the passenger side antenna. Which part numbers are these?

Thanks!!

You only need the splitter if you want nav and satellite radio. If only adding Sirius, you need the ACM, a female to female curry colored FAKRA (or one labeled universal) adapter at least 15” long, and antenna LC3Z-19A390-F for the passenger side.
