Almost 70,000 miles in, the lane centering function on my ‘22 Lariat PB has suddenly started to work properly, after three and a half years.

Is this attributable to a recent update?

Any similar experiences?

It's possible that an update resolved it.

My rear brake assist never worked from day one. Only after I took it in to get a flaky bed camera fixed (which required the dealer to perform multiple module updates) did it start working.

What was it doing? Lane centering on my 2024 is about useless. It tugs the wheel all over the place and does not stay centered. Same goes for BlueCruise, it rides to the right side of the lane too often. Sometimes touching the painted dashed lines and or coming close to the Semi truck, ugh.

That sounds more like lane assist than lane centering. Is the lane assist icon lit up in blue when you say this happens?

Thanks for the input, I was not aware of a difference. I don't know if there is a blue icon illuminated. I will have to look at the dash and at the settings again.

It also requires adaptive cruise to be enabled and on

Pardon my ignorance - - what is the difference between lane centering and lane assist?

In my case, there’s no Blue Cruise, just the high-zoot Lariat package.

(When I hear folks talking about theirTesla’s capabilities, I recognize how primitive is the tech on my ‘22 PB).

Hey my 2024 Lariat has Blue Cruise as an optional service and I activated it for a month so my wife and I could use it on a long vacation from SC to MI, across Canada, down through ME, NH, VT, PA, VA, WVA, NC, and back to SC. The trip was over 4,000 miles.

BlueCruise worked very well, and the lane centering worked very well for us. I am impressed.
It is not perfect, and I definitely needed to build trust with the software (still working on that).
But it centered in the lane, it moved over for 18 wheelers to give more buffer on that side, and it only bailed out and asked me to take over on stretches in WVA and other places where I am guessing the mapping is incomplete or because the corners are so sharp FORD wanted me to have the wheel (WVA this happened several times in the mountains).

I keep one hand loosely on the wheel and let the truck drive itself, generally, and take both hands off to drink from a thermos, etc. when I want to.
