You don't need to worry about cooling the turbos by idling. They are still spinning even while idling, though boost is minimal, so not generating any more heat to dissipate. I believe Powerboost have an aux electric pump to force coolant through the turbo bearing casing, and non Powerboost turbo...
Only on the recent model years ... I think the 2021 in question may have the electric IWE's, but I am not certain when Ford stopped including them, ... if present then can disengage the front axles at the hubs -
Ford even sells their own lift kit they developed with Bilstein - and they warranty it. I looked on the website and it says it should fit your truck. Not sure what your dealer was thinking:

Not sure but the 2021 f-150 may still use axle end actuators to lock the hubs into and out of 4wd. My 2013 had vacuum IWE's and I think they switched to electric and then did away with them altogether in the newer model years.
If you have IWE's on your front axle ends it may be that one of them...
It's a personal decision as to which weight you use. Just to help clarify though 75w-140 is not a 140 weight oil. These multi viscosity oils are formulated so that at around -30 celsius I think, they flow like the lower weight would at that temperature, and at 100 celsius they flow the same as...
Hey my 2024 Lariat has Blue Cruise as an optional service and I activated it for a month so my wife and I could use it on a long vacation from SC to MI, across Canada, down through ME, NH, VT, PA, VA, WVA, NC, and back to SC. The trip was over 4,000 miles.
BlueCruise worked very well, and the...
Interesting! Glad you found the leak and solved the issue. Things like random noises are so irritating. Hopefully smooth sailing now for the next 200k miles
Yeah, good info, and thank you, all. I agree with your points for the most part. Let's see how time unfolds and if the market comes up with a solution. No IWE certainly reduces complexity and on the plus side, that is why I got the 5.0 this time - to reduce complexity and hopefully keep it on...
I did also find this on another forum, suggesting no IWE on the models with 4A, and possibly IWE on other models...
I am glad to not have to worry about IWE failure (had to replace them on my 2013), but to be honest it is very simple to remove and replace those old IWE's. But with the front...
Thanks, Nassau. My impression is there is no hub disconnect in the 2022 and forward F-150 4WD systems anymore (at least in the models with a 4A option). If so, then in 2 High the road force would still spin the entire front drivetrain through tire contact with the road.
Do you have information...
Based on wh.at I know about my 2025 F-150, this generation no longer uses the vacuum or electric front wheel axle engagement mechanism (IWE). So, I am guessing that means the front wheels, cv axles, and differential assembly/driveshaft all spin all the time.
Is this correct?
If correct, does...
Yeah, I get it. My 2013 ecoboost engine was smooth for over 140k when I sold it.
But I am liking the 5.0 now as it is breaking in, and no worries about turbo issues, coolant leaks, timing chains, cam phasers, etc etc
Good luck!
I couldn’t hear anything except the plane, but I also have a 2024 5.0 and it was making unexpected tinking/clinking noise from the engine or transmission area when warming up when new.
It was brand new so I drove the rest of the first 1,000 miles with the Auto Stop on Off, and either in Sport or...
In my case, it appears the root cause was the plastic cover which holds the air filter in place behind the glove box, was not completely fastened on the side nearest the passenger door.
I removed and reinstalled the cover and verified it was completely latched. Test drive did not produce any...
Interested if anyone found a way to deal with this.
Based on my experimentation with my 2024 model, if I increase brightness or dimness of the dash using the adjusting buttons on the left of the dash, this also affects whether I can dim or brighten the center console screen.
My problem is the...
I did a search and did not see existing conversation so new thread:
I have a 2024 Lariat 5.0 (1400 miles) and the passenger side dash vent whistles above 50MPH or so.
If I turn off the ventilation system it stops, if I turn on the ventilation system it returns.
I am going to pull the glove box...
I just sold my 2013 F-150 Lariat, and had run through two sets of these tires in the 141K miles I owned it (plus the original Goodyears it came with). I ran 275/65r18 on that truck. Also ran the same tires on a 1999 Land Rover Discovery II I owned in the past. I never had any issues in snow...
I just picked up a new 2024 F-150 Darkened Bronze 4WD Lariat 5.5 bed with the 5.0 and with Smoked Truffle interior. It joins our 2013 F-150 Ruby Red 4WD Lariat 6.5 bed with Adobe interior, for the time being, until the 2013 is sold to its next owner. I'll post a picture shortly.
