MOA advanced formula for oil change

Today I went and got my first oil changed at 5000 miles. When I received my invoice I was charged for advanced formula MOA the cost for this line item was $30. What is MOA? Does it provide any benefit? Do I need to get it on my next oil change?

its suppose to enhance the motor oil and in my opnion you dont ever need it because thats is the oils job and its a waste of money.

That Additive is the types of additives all the manufactures with critical orifices inside their engines (chain tensioners, disabled rocker arms) frown upon and specifically warn against. It thickens the oil and that is a bad thing, not good.

Tribologists (lubrication engineers) say simply to pick a good oil but do not add anything to it since it will come with all of the addives it needs. The various additives on the market can actually hurt performance of the oil.
