I have that going on right now. Truck is going in today. It's probably the 12 volt battery going bad.

Change the battery to a H7 or H8. Many posts on here about this issue.

Yeah, get that occasionally on a brand new 2024 XLT. Also, if I let it sit for 2 weeks, I can no longer start it from my phone, with a message that it is conserving the battery.

I found a fix on YouTube. Turn on accessories, hit bright lights 5 times. Press brake pedal 3 times then the battery icon on dash will eventually blink a few times and it’s reset. Don’t ask me why but it works ?

That resets the BMS (battery monitoring system). You need to do that when you replace the battery. Without replacing the battery that trick will probably only work as a temporary solution to your problem.

^^^This. Your original battery is likely an H6; marginal capacity at best for these trucks. The powerboost model battery tray can hold an H7. The non-powerboast model battery tray should be able to hold an H8.

The battery should be charged to 100% using an external charger before resetting the BMS also.

A month ago I replaced the original H6 in my 2021 with an H7 EverStart Platinum. I would get that message occasionally, especially when I didn't drive the truck much (I have a very short commute). I haven't seen that message, or had any battery issues, since upgrading to a larger new battery.

New 24 KR PB here, I am already having that message along with the loss of approach lighting/interior lights, and loss of FordPass remote starting, at only 1200 miles. I had this same exact issue with the 22 XLT 302a 2.7EB I had prior.

I was hoping that by now, this POS issue would have been resolved. Nope. I guess we are the poor saps that STILL have to deal with this.

Even after a 120 mile round trip on the superslab at 75 mph, I STILL had the f$&@ing battery saver mode the very next morning. What, am I supposed to do 500 mile a day 100 mph trips to stay out of battery saver mode? And no, I am not running a battery tender. I am not going to run a 100 foot extension cord out to it, and have to pop the hood to unplug it at zero dark thirty in the pouring rain/snow/freezing cold when I go to work.

I’ve pretty much given up on it. It sucks that I have to manually turn on my interior lights at night, so I can see the stuff I need to grab from the back seat, then hopefully I remember to turn the damn interior lights off before I close the door. I paid for the approach lighting feature, yet only get to use it part time, when it decides to not be in battery saver mode. It is what it is, I guess. At least I can still remote start it with the key fob, for now anyway.

Everything else about the truck is excellent. But this battery saver mode bullshit has soured me on the ownership experience, especially since this is my second F150 in a row with this unsolved issue. Ford’s battery management programming is absolute garbage, and the engineer(s) responsible for this should be fired, and never be allowed to work in the engineering field again.

It’s funny. My wife has loaded Subaru Outback. We have left it for two weeks in a parking lot when we have gone on vacation. We come back, all approach lighting/interior lighting works, and it starts right up as if we drove it the day before. No battery saver mode BS. I wouldn’t dare use my truck for that now, at least without having my booster pack under the back seat.

I'm not going to profess that this is a "cure-all" but its worked for me with a '24 PB Lariat -

I was getting the "save battery" messages. Even after driving two 50 mile trips no interior lights, "save battery" yada yada yada. And I've seen the trickle charge threads ad nausum..

I bought an Interstate H7 from Costco. Installed, did the BMS reset, made sure the approach light stuff was off, locked it and left the truck alone for almost 24 hours. I read "the battery management system requires eight hours of vehicle sleep time to relearn the battery state of charge".

Afterward very short drives, below freezing overnight temps and I've got zero issues. So, IMHO, folks might be assuming a new battery and a quick BMS reset is all you need to do. You might just want to give it a rest ?
