Anyone know why is the max tow package around $400 more on the Platinum 701A package?

That is a good catch. I was hopeful that it was a glitch, but I have located at least one Platinum showing the same $1,750 number. It looks like it is the only model with the upcharge for the package.

Regular tow is free on Canadian lariat... how about that for a crock. I’m getting a powerboost and getting the option for mirrors at the cost of $1350 for a bumper and brakes, no more. The e locker and tank are already optioned in/cancelled out. For them it’s the same thing. Max tow gets really expensive over regular tow, same price.

I can't figure out for sure without scanning the interior and dash menus but the max tow may have an INTEGRATED brake controller vs just a "brake controller". Review vids have never mentioned whether the truck they have is max tow or regular tow and never go into the screens.

I have a 2017 max tow and my controller has the manual squeeze switch, and +/- buttons to set gain, and in the dash for trailer status it shows how much gain is being applied as you brake, in the trailer status screen. You can also choose low/medium/heavy to customize if you want gradual (low) gain or more quickly (heavy) applied.

No clue if this differs in regular tow but I would be careful if you are counting on all the integrated brake controller...

The trailer tow package has a "Trailer Brake Controller" And Max Tow has an "integrated trailer brake controller" Is there a difference? I can't find any information comparing them.

The brake controller is on all three packages, just not included if you only buy the hitch package. It is poorly worded in the hitch package description.

Also, is there a difference in "Pro Trailer Backup Assist" and "Trailer Backup Assist" ?

I just spoke with a customer service rep with Ford and she suggested that I speak with the dealer, as she did not know 701A Max Trailer is more expensive. Her best guess, the 701A puts something on the truck that is not compatible or has to be changed in order for the the truck to receive the Max Towing. This alternation slows the line down/increases build labor, and thus the package is priced higher.
