So are the issues with the float axle fixed for MY24? Anyone have verification of that?

This is really explainable with code:

This code is perfect, which is why the business will come up with a use case to mutilate before the end of the week.

"Actually, I'm not spending time on the details for 2025, my interest is minimally vicarious. Glad to have all of this 'towing configuration angst' behind me.

When ordering my 2022 Lariat and studying things like that e-Sourcebook attached above I was just hoping to equal the 1729# payload of my 2005 XLT. The Lariat came-in at 1848#, equipped with all the 'luxury' options I wanted, all is good for my purposes, I love my now-unicorn Lariat SuperCab, and I'm done with truck buying for a long time. (y) ?

I've had no failures with my Max Tow Axle to date (knock-on-wood), just patiently waiting for the 'final remedy' whenever that finally comes. ?

I hear you about not worrying about stuff.

Once I did the full charge to the posts and BMS reset, all whatever issues I had, went poof.

The truck has been a joy, ever since and has exceeded my expectations.

Could it be? All that work we did, tailoring orders to avoid wasting any payload and they just dumped 50 lbs. on us, that it turns out we didn't even need?

I could'da had the tailgate step.

For 25s, makes up for them forcing 20" wheels on Lariats I suppose.
BISG? Is that the 7.2kW generator? I need/want that, LOL.
I take that it reduces payload by 50lbs?

No, you'll definitely want the full 7.2KW generator. Especially for your RV use.

Its an extra starting system that older PBs had, that was found to be unnecessary and has been deleted on new PBs.

I am wondering what the "Max Tow" option for $395 really adds (screenshot below)?
The description from Ford is not very conclusive, and I haven't found a clear answer either using the search function of the forum.

Does it increase the GVWR/payload and/or towing capacity rating, especially for the powerboost?
Any other reason to pay or not pay for it?

Thanks much!

When this is highlighted and added your costs have just skyrocketed because it must have the 3.5EB, 5.0 or 3.5PB, 20" tires. The example is a XLT to show how much it can cost.

I would say if you are maxing out your towing capacity than it's worth it. My last 2 trucks had it and I opted out this time. I did add aftermarket 3rd leaves. Now I only tow a maximum of 6200lbs with 400/500 lbs of tongue weight.

If your anticipated use puts you so close to your GCWR that you question if you need 300 more pounds, you're ordering the wrong truck. If you're considering it for other reasons/features of the package, then that's OK.

Most of the time, it's not the GCWR that's limiting, but payload. At least it has been for me in the past.

That's the case for everyone ever since the first cave man built a wood cart to pull.
Can you explain without making it a riddle?

According to Ford's towing guide the Max Tow axle is required for the full tow rating of 11,200 for the PowerBoost.

It doesn't specifically mention the payload for the PB, but it does state that the max tow axle is required for the max payload under the #5 note, so it would make sense that it boosts payload.

Except it doesn't. Or didn't anyway. As I recall, it cost 20lbs. of payload. The heavier hitch and bumper brackets did increase towing capacity but at the expense of payload.

And for 25, for the PB, it only gets you an additional 400lbs. of trailer weight. 200 if a long bed.
