Once the battery has discharged below a certain level battery is damaged. Won’t recharge to good SOC. Voltage will be good but it’s the SOC that gets us. On my 3rd battery in my 22
My C8 AGM battery went dead flat when a OTA failed and kept the car powered up. Could not open doors, frunk anything at all. Eventually got it jumped. Has been fine and its been about 3 years. Not daily driven. No maintenance charger either.

if you have forscan change the SOC to 90% and relearn the BMS.. My truck SOC averages from 80 to 87% most of the time with sitting and short drives around town..

Thank you all for your thoughts... I did purchase a battery maintainer that I mounted next to the battery so I can just plug it in when I get home. I'll leave it plugged in for a couple days and see what happens. Hopefully this battery is not too far gone, it's only a year old and this issue only started again last week.

It would probably be fine if I drove the truck everyday, but I have a long commute to work and I don't want to put too many miles on it too soon. I have a 2016 Escape that I drive to work most days. and Drive the truck one day to work and one day on the weekend.

Yea I don’t have the luxury of using a maintainer. I work a fly in / fly out job on a week on / week off rotation. I need my truck to start after sitting for a week in Canadian winters. My 2016 ram1500 that I traded in for this truck never missed a beat in its 9 year run.
For as bad of a rap Ram gets. We will see if my 23 tremor can go 9 years without a mechanical hiccup.

I will say that despite the things not working as they should, my truck always starts up and I frequently only start it once a week. The battery management system does work as far as shutting things down to make sure there's enough power to start it.

My $99 question is why does all this assorted electronic equipment need to run when the truck is parked?

If it really worked it would not be killing batteries or shutting off things.

Thats my experience too. Plenty of warnings of shutting things off but it has never failed to start and run well.

That’s great to hear. I’m okay with losing my app connectivity if it means my truck will start.
I will hop in FORscan and up my charging to 90%. I’ll shut off automatic updates too. I can install them when I’m at home.
A new AGM H8 is going in this week.
And for what it’s worth. There are dozens of modern ford trucks at this same parking lot. Only once I can recall a coworkers 2022 superduty failed to start.
All in all these trucks are surviving my environment.

Just so you understand it’s not voltage that shuts off things in truck. It’s the SOC. I changed mine to charge to 100% in forscan and best I have seen on a 2 hour drive is 89% SOC. Upgrading battery to H7 or H8 only buys you more time before the SOC issues arrives. Tried to get my battery covered by the 3 year warranty was told no because had 12.4 voltage and go cranking amps but only would charge to 53%

Every time I shut my truck engine off, it displays "System shutdown to preserve battery power" or something to that effect. I don't drive it a lot, and it sits for weeks on end.
I'll be damned if I connect a battery charger to it every time I park it. This thing is too frigging smart for its own good!!
I had the same issue on my '21 KR and after the 2nd complaint, my dealer found TSB-2031. They replaced the auxiliary battery and auxiliary isolator and the issue has been solved for the past month (fingers crossed). Hope this helps.

My truck only has the one battery in it. It's the Eco-Boost model. I call it other things best not posted here.
