I've driven all engine combinations of F150 for several days each and the 2.7 is the most "fun" daily driver, due to its instant torque.

I love my 5.0 because its an amazing engine and sounds like heaven, but if I were to not care about the sound, I'd likely have a 2.7.

I have a 23 2.7 stx 4x4 and I really like it. I have about 17k on it and as some people mentioned above, mine came with the large tank and cruising at 70mph I get a little over 25mpg and once when I filled it up I had a range of 806 miles. Normally over 700+. I only tow a small boat but it has plenty of power and surprised me about how much zip it has in sport mode.

Buy it and drive it the 2.7EB is an amazing engine that has been in service since it's introduction in 2015 model year.
Yes wet belt oil pump fear is rampant but more than likely none of these people have experienced ramifications of a broken distributor shaft or maybe even seen or know what a distributor does.

Own a 22 2.7EB and will not be purchasing another vehicle for anytime in the future.

Only engine close calls is the valve issues in late 21 and early 22 in the 2.7 and 3.0 engines.

I have a 2023 STX with the 2.7 for my company truck. This thing makes more than the 325hp/400lbft of tq that's advertised. I have no issues accelerating on the highway or passing. I usually get 23-24mpg with most highway driving on A/T tires. The seats are really comfortable as well.

I would definitely choose this over a RAM with the V6. That thing is a slug that gets just as bad mpg as the hemi V8.

it should serve you well. the 2.7 seems to be a reliable engine, gets good gas mileage. I bought a new 23 with the 2.7 in April after looking for a truck for close to a year and I'm happy with it although I haven't put many miles on it .
Thanks for sharing your experience Frank! Happy to hear you love it so far. :)

I have a 2.7 SC STX I bought as a leftover and got almost 30% off MSRP. Remember, it will be worth what a used 23 is worth as soon as you drive it off the lot, so negotiate with that in mind. The dealer has to be desperate to sell it by now.

It gets good gas mileage and really, plenty of power. I have the 3:55 rear end but if the truck you're looking at has the 3:73, that's a bonus. No real negatives and I've had no problems so far.
