My son has a 16 Extended cab with 2.7
He has 72K miles
Recently his short trip home from work his engine coolant gauge went to max hot
Codes popped up to that effect and it went into a terribly slow limp mode
Popped hood and it was not hot
He researched it and turned out be upper head temp sensor
It doesn’t ride In coolant just air I told him that couldn’t be
It has another sensor in fluid under intake I thought was bad and it has to be sensor the gauge is hooked to
That’s what experience has taught us old man
It’s a big job to change $$$
I was wrong the head sensor was bad
It’s a easy fix like changing a spark plug
Around $40 Autozone
Just wanted save someone the trouble!
