After searching for a PAT equipped truck for several weeks, I finally found a King Ranch one and tested it out in person. It was pretty awesome. Definitely odd that Ford allows the 'incorrect' bumper with PAT trucks if you order the BAP, as the trailer wires would get in your way for sure.

Wanted to try it out in person before placing an order. Other than the two vertical body lines (aesthetics), I'd see no reason to not order one. The sales people were supposed to contact me when they received one and never did, so definitely have to check manually every day on dealer's sites.

This is the truck I tried, if anyone is local and wants to check it out.

But the truck in the link has the "right" bumper, right? At least it looks like it to me.....plugs on the right.

Correct, it had the 'right' bumper! I was just making an observation for the BAP trucks. I would actually prefer to order a BAP truck, but not if the trailer wires will be in the way.

Never thought about the trailer wires being in the way, but yeah that kinda sucks. Aside from that, the biggest downside for me is that you lose the pullout step when the tailgate is opened normally. I plan to just strap a small step stool in the bed for the couple times a year I actually get in the bed.

This KR I tried didn't have the retractable center step option, but I would prefer that over the built in tailgate step/pole (when using the PAT door). The retractable AMP corner bumper steps are so quick and convenient to deploy for using the tailgate in normal mode.

I haven’t seen a single truck on a dealer lot with the retractable center step. It’s probably a constraint along with everything else. I did not include that in my order, but I’m hoping there will be aftermarket options.

I researched and found a few that have been ordered with the retractable rear center step. I'm guessing since the PAT is just now hitting the streets, it will take a minute before orders start picking up for the step.

Attached is one I found with the step - it is on its way to Pensacola.

Has anyone seen a BAP PAT build? I’ve seen a few and they all don’t have the black vinyl F150 decal like the order guide says

I've noticed that as well. Just one more small detail that Ford overlooked or wasn't ready for. The lettering looks to be smaller on the PAT also, so the decals you can buy now won't fit. I'm sure there will some available soon tho. I may get a quote from a vinyl shop to get it done if I ever get my truck.

I have a BAP on order, but finding out the bumper is not the new design (trailer wiring being an important consideration) disappointed me.

EDIT#2: I saw the Blend date wrong, so want to clarify (for information's sake) that there were no PAT trucks built the first week of April like I thought.

EDIT: It's been a tough day, so I might be overreacting a bit... not sure though.

Pretty much the end of all of this for me I think. Frustration beyond belief.

My friend's PAT equipped Lariat arrived at his dealer yesterday. He ordered his truck a month after me, and his blend date is 20240405! So.. it is fact that PAT trucks were built for production that first week of April.

He ordered end of March, blend ends up 4/5 5/3 and delivered 6/5.
I ordered 2/19, blend ends up 5/3, and I still don't have any movement or information from "In Production 5/6".

So pissed that I might end up going with with an Audi SQ8... it can tow what I need.

In one of the other threads I believe someone said his order went from "In Production" straight to at the dealership. You may be a lot closer than you think. Maybe not but do not go by that tracker info as that is notoriously inaccurate.

Also the orders do not get processed, first in first out. Scheduling takes in a lot of variable complexities and orders get moved around a lot. Its a shame it happens that way but orders always go like this for all the manufactures. Good luck.

Yeah.. I know. Thanks for trying to pick me up a little.

Dealership still only shows "QC hold" since 5/13. No additional information anywhere (even though tracker says "Last Updated 5/24". Chat and marketing are still telling me that the scheduled arrival date is 5/11 - 5/17. So the dealership knows nothing, Chat knows nothing and Marketing knows the same as chat.

With 2025 order guides coming in August (per Ford Marketing in another thread), I just can't see paying full price (or even discounted) for the truck.. especially not knowing what is wrong with it that it is sill on Quality hold indefinitely with no information or ETA.

EDIT: I think this will be my last post on the forums until/unless I end up with the truck I ordered, or I order a 2025 (I don't know if I can bring myself to do that given this year's experience). I've exhausted all avenues and it really just makes me more frustrated when I come on here now. Good luck everyone (if I don't "see" ya'll again).
