Leather steering wheel swap ... buttons

I'm thinking I may wanna do the leather steering wheel swap in my stx. Well my question is If I find a wheel that either doesn't have buttons in it or the one that has the 2 buttons on left side which mine only has the one for the ping pong lane assist or whatever. Lol. Is it possible to swap for my buttons and if so how hard is it. I tried searching but didn't see specifically what i was looking for.

i'm pretty sure the buttons just screw into steering wheel.
I know when others swap for the raptor wheel, they swap over the buttons so i would assume all SW have that ability

I just don't wanna have buttons that don't do anything on my wheel ya know. I'd have to assume you could swap them since alot of xl stx owners swap to leather and or heated. Which I dunno if they have their buttons or the one with 2 on left side.

The buttons just unscrew. Swap your to the new wheel.

So another question. Lol. Does it matter which wheel I get. I'm looking at ford site and it'll list like active steering and stuff like that. I don't want heat just regular leather wheel. I just want to be sure I get 1 and it works not have to keep trying.

Was the one I ordered for my 24. Simple leather I think from XLT. The buttons are easy to swap over, couple of torx screws per side.

Dang that looks pretty damn good. I'd never be able to make it look factory like that. Don't have the patience. Lol.
But it does look good did it take a while to do it

So you just ordered that one and swapped your buttons on it. And it all just plugged right back in

It's not that complicated. just make sure you unhook the battery before fiddling with the airbag

I did this on my STX. Took a couple hours, but looks and feels just as good as the leather wheel you'd get buying a higher trim.
