I bought a used 2021 Lariat 5.0 in early June, 22k miles, manufactured 12/20 at the Kansas City plant. The truck now has 24,200. I've noticed a number of small issues, some of which have been fixed, others only happened once, etc. Bigger issues right now are low Battery SOC (ranges 40-50%), oil consumption and this kinked high-side AC line.

The battery SOC (likely just a crap battery) and oil consumption (I've added ~1 qt in a about 2100 miles to keep topped off, starting to document levels better) seem fairly well covered. I won't get into those unless someone has more questions.

My AC has been running OK, maybe a little weaker than I'm used to, but I thought maybe that's how these trucks are and it's summer in the south, so who knows. Now I'm thinking I probably shouldn't be using it at all. As far as I know this truck has only been serviced by Ford dealers, so this seems very strange. I'm not sure when manufacturing began in KC plant; 12/2020 seems early, but not THAT early. I'm really hoping the dealership doesn't deny warranty on this for some stupid reason.

Has anyone else seen this? Any thoughts on using the AC? I imagine this can't be good for the compressor.

Well, that's not good. Definitely should not be like that. That will cause one hell of a restriction and add some serious strain to the AC compressor. Should get that line replaced ASAP. I can't imagine it would leave the factory like that. Someone did some work to it and really did a piss poor job of it too.

I reached out to ford for previous warranty work. They were able to provide the details for repairs made before the truck was originally sold, but not for first owner. Luckily that info said the compressor was replaced soon after arriving at dealer lot. So now we have the explanation and should be all set for warranty.
