I have been considering ordering the B&O tweeter a piller housings from the 8 speaker system because I can get them for cheap. Not only do they look better but they point in a more ideal direction than the factory six or seven set up. Can anyone shed some insight for me on two questions

1. Are the actual speakers inside any better than the base 6 or 7 speaker systems?

2. Will it be safe to use them with the kicker key. I found on another form that they do have crossovers built-in, but I don’t wanna blow them. I am assuming the plug is the same.

How ironic, I just ordered these for the same reason; turned more away from the windshield in hopes of a better sound. Plus they look nice IMO.

The pictures I've seen, they look the same, but supposedly they are different. I'm sure someone will chime in. For me, if they are the same or better great (?), but I think most who swap the A pillars out want the better tweeter position.

I imagine they have equivalent or better power handling as the 6/7 speaker system.

I installed the B&O A pillers this evening and re ran the DSP. They are a substantial upgrade to my ears. Not sure if it’s the angle of attack or they are actually better drivers but they definitely worth the couple hundred bucks! Plus they do look awesome.

I put 1" JL C3s in mine. Looks better than factory too. It's really just having the tweeter right up in the stage that makes a difference. $199/pair and includes tweeter protectors.

I have alpine type x 6x9 woofers in the door which are a unique set of woofers able to take full range. JL tweeters are a bit bright but the DSP makes correcting that easy, I roll off 6db around 4khz all the way up. The combination outperforms every sub $1k 3 way sets I've heard without having to find a spot for a 4" mid. The tweeters are only wearing their protection devices while the 6x9s get full signal rolling off around 45hz (same channel). Might seem like an odd pairing but the $300 I saved creating this setup went into the DSP.

Mine came in yesterday.
Well… good thing I asked them to open the boxes, they’re the wrong color. The part number is right for dark slate, but they are black onyx ? So we’re going to try again….
