define poor.

what options do you have selected?
Pretty sure I have tried all the op long options, but primarily with experimental and dynamic (everything checked) selected.

When traveling 50mph or faster the acceleration is inconsistent. It works OK for awhile then if it slows for a car ahead it will crawl back up to the set speed, like a 1mph faster acceleration. Then it struggles to hold a speed above 65mph.

Try it with experimental mode disabled (chill mode). I know DEC has been struggling with the new long API.

I can confirm that the DEC is very wonky right now. It’s a bug in sunny or open pilot

There should be an update showing for the staging branch. It squashes a bug where logic wasn't applied evenly between left and right curves. Also fixes an issue with "steering unavailable" when making human turns.

Thank you, I had that happen a few times before

the only thing I have been struggling with is the lane position. It likes to hug the right too much. I have played with the new settings and I can get it to move a little but it’s still too close. Some profiles are worse than others. I’ve been sticking with DA or North Dakota instead of Notre Dame for that reason.

I've spent over 200 hours on in-lane positioning since we got staging released to you guys, and I think I am finally admitting defeat. I can't find a way to get adjusted in-lane without the model fighting me and moving me back where it wants to, which results in ping pong as the in-lane position fights the curvature of the model.

I may attempt a hardware solution. Moving the the device left or right on the windshield will affect where the model thinks center is, so perhaps I could modify the base of my sliding dock to be adjustable left/right a few inches.

First and foremost, thank you for all the fucking hard work from you and everybody else here. I think everybody reading this owes you all a debt of gratitude.

I was actually just about to print out your slide mount for my truck. I know, after the heat has already left for the season ha ha.

Do you think just physically moving the regular mount to the right would help?

Yes, but I have no idea how far to move it to make a noticable difference. I've been scheming a way to test such a thing.

My memory could be bad, but I seem to recall one of the driving models released from November last year to February this year handled lean placement really well. It could have just been my mind, but it seemed to know if I was in the right lane, to keep off the right shoulder. The center would keep me fairly centered, and the left lane would then keep me off the left shoulder. It seemed to understand what lane I was in based upon the lane striping and then applied logic from there.

But again, it could very well have been just coincidence on a drive

If you figure out which model, please share.

I will definitely try to play with it to figure out. I think it was one of the ones where it had the auto lane/lane options in open pilot

But I’ll play with them and see

You have to go all the way back to New Deli to get the lanefull/laneless option back (which would also allow for custom software offsets). That model is almost a year old at this point. LAv2 came out in February.

I did notice some hugging of the right lane happening, so I'm going to jump back one model, to north Dakota and see how that goes.

I've adjusted mine trying to figure out how to make the ping-pong less annoying. When adjusting, if you twist the Comma in it's mount slightly, say you push one side out towards the front or pull one side in towards the rear. It's changed how the truck hugs the lines. I can't remember which twist gives which side the more line hug. I'm not sure if you may have tried this.
