I will try it again but I could have sworn that when I do there is a text box that says that calibration is automatic now. Is the two places to try to calibration?

This all sounds so interesting. Will this work on an F-150 equipped with the co-pilot assist 360 package (non-blue cruise equipped)?
All you need is adaptive cruise control, either from the factory or DIY retrofitted.

Thank you Ajzride. Okay. I do have that. I will definitely be looking into this as I do drive quite a bit (around 18-20k/year) and a fairly good split b/w city/highway.

I don’t know what all the packages include As long As it included adaptive cruise you are okay.

I talked to my nephew last night. He is a Bosch certified mechanic. His shop repairs Mercedes, Volvo, BMW, and other high tech cars. We discussed the pending encryption of the data buss that the car manufacturers are adopting. He said there is massive push back from all repair shops. Even shops as big as his. He felt that the right to repair legislation will win out. In the current form it's requiring shops to purchase additional very expensive equipment that doesn't always bridge the hurdle. Volvo for example is becoming impossible to repair.
This encryption scheme is more about a money grab than a security fix.
There is currently a fight to stop this trend. The conversation was deeper that I explained here. Basically if left unchecked no one with a shop less than 10 bays will be able to swap out a headlight. Right now a Volvo headlamp bulb can not be replaced. The intitlre head light assembly costs 10k. 8k if used and thousands for the equipment to code it. Most of the conversation went over my head. Maybe someone can simplify it.
Crazy.

Highly interesting, and my one concern is that right to repair legislation at one point, and I'm not the most up to date on it currently, but at one point it specifically excluded the automotive industry.

Likewise I would think the check engine light would already be phased out and actually have a useful display prompt on new vehicles instead of requiring specific manufacturer codes and all.

Also I'd heard (I forget where) that this tron and other encryption is being forced by the EU and the auto manufacturers are all too happy to comply.

I got a new Comma 3x today with a Ford Q4 harness. Everything was fine with unit powered down. Running Bluepilot-Stable on a 23 F150 PB. When I turned the unit on I started receiving error messages on the dash and got a “Canbus disconnected possible faulty cable” warning. I reseated all the cables. I reset the C3X. I also tried the “short” usb c cable that came with it. View attachment 119043 I also fired an email off to Comma support. Anyone here have any Ideas?
Assuming they don't channel their inner-Elon and that they actually hit their October target.... What's the odds that a new end-to-end model will require more compute horsepower in the car than the 3x can handle? Obviously the real compute intensive part is training the model, but how much additional compute will likely be needed in-vehicle? Anyone know or care to speculate?

Original post never posted… So that’s what was above. Got a used cable and it is working correctly. Evidently there is something different about the new Ford. Q4 style cable without the ethernet connection versus the older one. The older one works.
