Intermittent hum or howl from front end

Not sure if related to temperature or not... '24 powerboost and it's just finally getting cold here in Michigan.

On 6 different occasions in the last 24 hrs, probably 30 min total driving short distances, I've had a grinding sound in the front end. Sounds like 4x4 partially engaging. Not on acceleration. It seems to happen when I let off the gas and coast. Hitting 4h makes it go away instantly. Put it back in 2h and it may or may not come back right away.

First thought was a vacuum check valve but seems maybe the design was changed? Anyone know what the fix is or is this something a dealer is going to punt until it breaks?

26F this afternoon and I kind of caught it on video. Hearing it is like listening to one of those "ghost haunting" recordings but I can hear it...dealer might not. I also recorded my pushing the 4H button, which immediately stops the sound of a prop plane flying under my truck.

I have had this issue ongoing and every time I take it to the dealer the last two years, it never happens on a test drive with the tech so no fix yet! Go figure! It is a very slight hum sound under light acceleration or deceleration when making a slow speed stop, acceleration or a slight left turn, Very frustrating, It isn't constant but random when it happens, I try to record it when I hear it but its so low a noise the phone dosen't relay what I am hearing. I swear I can feel a ever so slight vibration when I hear the front end sound. I have shifted the trans to nuetral, applied brakes or released them, rotated the tires even but still hear the sound. I am trying to eliminate a drivetrain or brake issue but these actions will not get rid of the sound which goes away soon after it starts most times. I love the truck and have 40K on it and this is the only issue I have had so perhaps I am nitpicking it but nevertheless, like others, the noise crops up. I have the ESP plan so I am not worried about anything catastophic but would like to know what it is.

Mine was 3 for 3 this week driving. 2 of 3 times were almost in the identical spot on the way back home. it was also 25 degrees out. need to check dashcam to see if it caught the sounds.

Had it again, and again 28F. Recorded and I can hear it very slightly but I'm thinking the dealer wouldn't pick it out.

Dropping the truck off tomorrow. Hopefully it will be below freezing and they can replicate the issue!!! Not expecting much to come from it, other than some bullshit diagnostic fee ?

The descriptions are exactly what prior years have had.

Just FYI 24-2189 does include 2024 models. Does not include raptors though.

Has anyone had success yet getting this TSB done? I was told they have to verify the issue to perform and its been ridiculously warm this winter here so far. Almost never below freezing yet and so it hasn't happened. I'm hoping I can take a video and that will be sufficient, once it gets cold enough.

Tsb was done Two weeks ago at dealer same problem replaced both iwe. Going back next week to dealer again 2023 f150 4k miles on it. Minnesota weather should bring it out

They are replacing mine (2024) in a few weeks. Was cold as shit in Indiana this past week. But they must have verified it while on the lift indoors, because they did not drive.

Good luck if they do the TSB it’s gonna get both IWE actuators The number is 24 2189 but they did mine two weeks ago and I drove it yesterday and it did the same thing.
