In case anyone is wondering what the Carolina Squat is, here's a truck with said modification and it's brilliant owner.

They made the squat illegal if its greater than 4" fender gap difference, yet rarely enforced in my area. Now if they'd only enforce the muffler requirements. I'm all for sounding good, but 2 1/2" dual straight pipes into trashcan tips clapping off of the pavement not only sounds horrible, it's annoying and illegal.

My brother's neighbor looks like he has a turkey fryer hanging off the end of his tailpipe. I can only imagine what it sounds like.

Why these are these not checked during inspection for being too loud?!?! I have no idea, but rolling back to the original topic...a clear windows tint is illegal.

Get a doctor's note and your darker tint just became legal.

At least it works in Louisiana.

WTF NC!

I took my truck into a tint place today to get tint installed, a PPF, and a ceramic coating. They asked me what tint level I would like. NC has a 32% tint level law on front and passenger windows, anything you want on the back, and nothing on the windshield.

I told the installer I didn't want to have to hassle with passing inspections so just go as dark as you can evenly around the entire truck and just put a clear film on the windshield to block heat and UV rays. They installer told me having the clear film would not pass inspection.

Everything I have read said you couldn't have film on the windshield due to safety for the police, which I thought was B.S. to begin with because I have never seen anyone get pulled over and the cops approach from the front of the vehicle, but I was will to play their stupid little game.

The installer told me if the inspection place puts a meter on it, it will not pass because it blocked sun just a little bit. It cant block ANYTHING.....AT ALL.....NO PASS GO.....NO COLLECT $200.....

I asked him if we was serious. All I wanted to do was protect the dash from cracking in the future (as I had a Honda that the sun destroyed from the inside out) as well as not feel like I was driving in an oven when I first got in my truck in the summer. He said unfortunately he was. So I then asked if they knew of any place that might skip the tint inspection and he said he has heard about a place 45min north of him...and you have to talk to the right person...in person...and take it in on a Sat. when the NCDOT inspection guy is not around.

So I skipped the installation of the windshield crystal clear see-the-all-the-freaking-way-through tint and am now here venting to you.

If the clear wont pass does that mean that the windshield itself wont pass either. Sounds fishy to me. Maybe he doesnt have the skills required to put clear film on windshield. I'm with you on this one

Sorry you are having trouble. Where i live more strict re tint so i simply use a good product every couple of months to treat interior that has uv blockers and keeps interior lookin clean and great. There are many . I have used F11 products on vehicles and boats . My 2002 Four Winns boat looked great when i sold it last summer . Guy who bought it asked how did it look so clean . My 7 year old truck same deal when i sold last year after 120,000 miles and i am doin same to my 21 F150 .

I am in NC too. I've got 20% over everything but the windshield. On top of whatever the factory is on the rear and sides. Our tint guy said he had NEVER done a legal tint job. But he is always booked 3 to 4 months out doing a few a day lol. He also said there's a doctors note you can get if you have "psoriasis", or "vision" issues. That's my next step, so I can put some 50% on my windshield and be in the clear.

Is the factory windshield dyed 70%. My windshield has a marking saying that It is 70%.

I saw one like this the other day. The guy had what had to be a 14-18" in diameter and nearly 2' long exhaust tip. What's worse is the main exhaust pipe was at best 2.25 - 2.5" welded up to it... And it honestly looked like a turkey fryer now that I read this.. I about fell out of my truck laughing when he revved it. It sounded like absolute garbage too with it being one of those GM Vortec v6's.
