In August, I got my ‘24 Lariat PB 501a with sticker of $75k for $69k with x plan. They showed what other incentives worked out to be and x plan was the best. Easy buying experience.

A very similar truck to the one I got is still on the lot, maybe one could haggle that one lower than X plan at this point.

No Ford trucks yet (Current tow vehicle Volvo 780)
I mentioned the MCA eligibility for x-plan at my last mustang club meeting, and someone pointed out that at least four members, including himself, were retired Ford employees eligible for a couple of X's a year that they could share.

As for myself, granger is most of the way to my grandkids, so . . . (and maybe pick up an engine for my Miata in Texas on the way back!)
I'm a Miata guy too, though my race car Miata has a GM Ecotec 2.4L engine in it now. We've got a 2025 F-150 on order as the new tow vehicle.

I won't be racing it. I'm just homing I fit in it again! It got smaller and lower each of the nine years I drove it. And I *don't* fit in it with the top up; I have to hold my head between bars at an angle! Of it's 70,000 miles, well under 1,000 with the top up.

It turns out that the ford 2.5 in the focus is the same engine as the Miata 2.0; it was a joint project. But ford built it harder.

So I either pay about $800 each way to ship it, and have it installed, or pick it up on the way back.

Someone, yeah, that's it, someone was driving one of my year up the Baker grade (sustained 6% leaving California for Vegas), passed a truck, and glanced down to see 105 on the speedometer, top down, and still accelerating!

It might be, but consider it carefully. There's on guy on here that got a great price from a dealer far away and received a pile of crap. The ENTIRE VEHICLE will need to be repainted to make just that part of the problem right, and both ford and the dealer in question are not buying the vehicle back. I mean, Ray Charles would have noticed the stuff wrong that both ford and the dealer in question sent out like it was no big deal. I promise you, this guy would have come out WAY better buying in person from the highest priced local dealer he could find. Now, this is FAR from the norm in this situation, but I said this to just remind you that it doesn't absolutely always work out to buy cheap from afar, and when it doesn't, BOY it doesn't!
Or the lesson learned is to not purchase anything sight unseen. In my case the dealer may have been 1,500 miles from home, but I was able to look it over before handing over the payment and driving off the lot.

That is true, but the guy I was responding to was specifically talking about getting one shipped to him, not buying after seeing the truck in person.

Oh, I understand, just noting the risk of buying something sight unseen. I was able to fly in and drive home for less than it would have cost to ship as well.
