I have had good luck with a heat gun or hair dryer, just don't get it too hot. Any adhesive left over I use adhesive remover and everything looks good.

I'd tell the dealer that unless he wants to pay you a monthly fee to advertise for him, he needs to remove those ugly emblems, and make sure he doesn't harm the paint. I tell every dealer to no put anything on my trucks before I pick them up.
My dad actually got away with that once. Back in the 70s there was anew Honda dealer. They gave him $200 to leave their name on for one year.

As long as the truck is new decals won't be a problem. I once bought a used chevy pickup that had been a fleet vehicle. You could see the unfaded Ingersol-Rand down the side of the bed.

Back in 04 I used fishing line but when you do it before you get it started do two things. First slide the line slowly back and forth and second and more important keep the line pulling toward yourself so you don't have the line rubbing on your paint.

Respectfully, I would not use the 3M eraser wheel on something like this. It's like hitting a fly with a hammer. I have always had great success with "Rapid Remover" by RapidTAC.com. I used it to remove my dealer's emblem on my new truck. I have also used Rapid Remover to remove RV decals. It is much better than some of the other name brand adhesive removers like Goo Gone. Good luck!

Took delivery of my RCSB 4X4 yesterday. Was on the fence about the 4X4 decal. I like the decal but not sure I like it on MY truck. This morning my wife said the decal was the only thing she did NOT like about my truck. Boom, gone. Used a heat gun on low and they peeled right off. Too much heat makes them too soft and they tear. Did not even leave a residue.

I want to remove the dealer emblem from my tailgate w/o harming the paint. Can someone tell be the safest and best way? I also might remove the 4x4 decals on each side of the bed. Thanks.
The 4X4 (FX4) decals on mine peeled right off, and the tiny bit of residue came right off with a dry clouth.

They'll actually come off cleanly without heat too. At least mine did.
