Has anyone figured this out out without having to install a transfer switch? I drew out a schematic to show the connection with and interlock switch. However, the problem is that the truck’s neutral and ground are bonded at the truck and the panel, it messes up with the GFCI. I read someone suggested disconnecting the ground wire at the panel, has anyone done it and prove that it works? Thanks!

Opening the ground wire will work... That doesn't comply with the NEC. I have approached Ford, via my dealer, on this and they blow it off. The issue is how can you convert your truck to a floating neutral as opposed to the current bonded neutral. I am still looking to be able to do that conversion. Does anyone out there have a wiring diagram? If you break the connection between the neutral and ground you don't need a transfer switch and that complies with the NEC. The requirement for a bonded neutral setup is an OSHA requirement for jobsite safety not an NEC requirement. I am vastly disappointed that Ford seems to ignore the need of familes.

End of thread? FWIW, IMHO, the Alphabet Agencies in WA DC suck gopher balls.

Did they ignore or just leave it up to an intelligent owner to take personal responsibility and wire to their requirements?

At the end of the day, even though they talked, they ignored the issue.

Yeah, there’s no way to safely do this according to the National Electrical Code.

I have a house with knob and tube in parts still and some of the newer work 30years ago is using conduit as natural. All these techniques were code once. Remember when butter gave you heart attacks. I have been running my Honda generator in my shop plugged into the sub panel that back feeds into my house panel. I use a Allan Bradley. 200 amp clamp relay disconnect my main panel from street at the first drop in voltage. Absolutely no way to backfeed to transformer. Once power from service entrance is off the clamp disconnects. Generator starts up. Once power from service is restored I have to manually shut off generator and manually reset clamp. My Honda has never been bonded. Is it code? Depends on what year the book was published. I eat butter.
