Anyone have clocksprings in stock yet? I havent bit the bullet on this until I can get my hands on a SCCM. Need one for a 2021 xlt without adaptive steering.
Is SCCM different from the Steering Heat Module? Or are they the same part?

Got the airbag off after managing to get that damn cover off. Looks like I have the heated steering wheel. No clue about the harness on the backend, but I think I just need the clockspring? It just has the dummy port.
I believe it should just be these two parts.

2023 platinum 701a with just about every option.

How do you tell if you have the heated steering wheel or not? Does that part number on the steering wheel have that information?

That cable with the brown plug I'm fairly certain is the heated steering wheel cable. It's the one that goes to a dummy plug.

I see. Was that brown plug just hanging there without being plugged in when you disassembled the airbag? Also what about the steering heating module? Is your platinum equipped with the module already? I'm still confused if the SCCM is the same part as the steering heating module.

From everything I've read and someone smarter than me is welcome to correct me, The module would have the actual plug there. SCCM = Steering column Control Module. The part you're looking for on trucks that have a wheel, is what will allow power to pass through (clock spring). It is a part of the SCCM which has everything on it such as turn signal/wiper stalk and those bits. Buying the entire SCCM is an option, but if you aren't upgrading to rain sensing wipers and other bobbles, then you can take a new clock spring and swap it out of the SCCM and save some money. It wasn't an actual "module" that was deleted unless you consider the clock spring a module. Then it was the clock spring that was deleted since they can't get them.

I found this YouTube video of DIY heated steering wheel for an XLT (I couldn't find what MY, so it could be different for MY23). In the video, he installs this Steering Heating Module and it also requires a harness that connect the module with the clock spring. Is this outdated and not applicable to MY23?

That is for a previous gen F150 so I assume it's not accurate. Boosted grey goose has a harness but I'd wager a guess that it goes between the clock spring and one of the computers on the underside. (BCM, ECU whichever the thing is.) Probably need to read through the thread completely to figure out that info. Or wait for someone who knows better than me to answer that.

I think the issue that remains a grey area is that the back side of the sccm needs to have pins for the heated steering power as well and the way I have read this thread just the clock spring will not solve that side of the module. From what I have read both here and the raptor forum, the pins on the back side of the sccm are missing as well.

the way I understand it is the power flow runs
fuses in passenger footwell > back of sccm (sccm actually controls heated wheel function) > clock spring (transfers power and allows wheel to spin) > wheel itself

I've brought this issue up and I've been told that the whole assembly is required. I thought I could just get the module and not the assembly, but have been told that won't work. The whole assembly with the blinker stalk is required. Not sure why...

Yeah I've got no idea.
For anyone who has more knowledge than me. Do you know what part I need for my 23 Plat? Is it just the clock spring or do I need a harness as well.

There’s so many different combinations of trucks as to what is deleted and what is not, you won’t know for sure what you have and what you will need until you pull your truck apart and verify

No way to know 100% for sure until you look at your particular truck but you should expect based on what others have seen to date opening up their 23s:
Correct steering wheel with heat element
Correct harnesses for heated wheel
Clock spring and sccm missing heat pins
Hvac module without heated wheel button

Well I can report today I finally installed my new heated wheel in my 22XLT PB. Made my own harness and put the pin in 15 of the bcm connector and all is working well. I just put the soft button on the climate bar at the bottom. I will say it takes some time for the wheel to fully heat up. In fact I kinda thought I had not programmed something right cause I expected it to getHot sooner. My wife’s 22 equinox get hot super fast. So that was my benchmark. But once it heats up in the truck it’s nice and toasty. I turned up the temp to 39c which is the max. And have it set for manual shutoff so it does not time out.

Other than the harness that you made, what additional parts did you need to make it work on your XLT?
