I believe u can get the hvac controller with the steering heated wheel button and make that work without doing the expensive 12 in screen upgrade

Man that looks unreal!

I know it’s a bit unrelated but how do you go about doing heated and cooled seats factory style? Is it basically new seat covers and an element or are more things needed? Could be a huge upgrade for my lowly mid trim XLT!

It’s looking like I’ll be able to do the led projector headlamp swap for around $1450. That’s just for static projectors with glare free lighting, but would likely be a bit more to get the full dynamic bending.

Since I’m already getting the turn signal stalk, I might as well add the rain sensing wipers also, the two other parts for that are probably another $80. I’m having a REALLY hard time finding a good part number for the automatically adjusting steering column though

What else has to be added for the rain sensing wipers?

I didn’t know that trucks with co-pilot assist already have rain sensing wipers, so I didn’t have to move forward with it because my truck already had it.

to the best of my knowledge it is just the turn signal stalk and the rain sensor, plus some forscan changes

Co-pilot was force deleted from mine. I had the correct turn stalk for the heated wheel project. Hoping to give it a go this weekend. If it’s just adding the sensor, seems pretty easy.

Have you verified you don’t have the rain sensing wipers?

Yes. I received the truck today. It is a different wiper stalk.

Infotainment sells a kit. It appears to have wiring. So that’s why I asked. Not sure what the wiring is for.

Gotcha, I never dug too deep into it, but I believe it’s just two wires coming off of the sensor that ties into the auto dimming mirror. Don’t quote me on that though

Forgive me this is my first post in the forum and I have no idea how it works chronologically. I will be referencing conversations 10 pages back, lol. I have successfully installed a heated steering wheel in my XLT 302A this week. I read through this post like 100 times before I did it. There is more than enough info here to make it happen, but I did buy the kit from Boosted Grey Goose. The instructions they provide are awesome, but I was too impatient to wait for them to arrive before I tore my truck apart. The video @superfordman made was awesome. I bought the HVAC module from BGG but I’m not going to install it until I’m ready to do cooled seats. I originally switched the vehicle in the APIM to a super duty like @Jesse-Infotainment figured out but today found out that you can just enable the unreal theme and climate controls bar at the bottom, which I like better because it’s always right there and you don’t have to search for the card. And of course, thanks to @Livinitup for his amazing spreadsheet and the post about the climate bar in the unreal theme that I overlooked the first 100 times I read it.
Congrats man!

Question for you, is there a trick to get the climate bar? I can't for the life of me get it to show up. i have unreal enabled and the climate bar as @livinitup mentions and nothing. reset APIM several times, nothing. Any tips?

Ah! So i was worried about my vehicle not having power telescoping controls. It's possible to just unbolt that section and put my original wiper control back?
Yes. Did you watch my video at all a few pages back?

Actually just watched it last night awesome video man great description!

I made a point to go through and read the whole thread, I’m kinda bummed my 8” screen won’t do the trick for the soft button though!?

So i just had a thought, if i just buy the clockspring and wheel (since i know i want to upgrade my screen later).

Without any button, can i just have the truck automatically turn the heated steering wheel on at startup (or when it's super cold like when my rear defrost comes on automatically)?

Sorry for trying to hack this up, working with limited funds in the 'fun bucket' lol

I don’t think you’re hacking up this thread at all. That the beauty of forums like this, asking these types of questions and taking on these types of projects really grows the base of knowledge for the entire forum. I would encourage anyone to ask these types of questions
