Disliked the 5.0 in my 2022 F150, so I sold it for a Tremor with an EB. The EB is leaps and bounds ahead of the 22's 5.0 I had. However, I preferred the 5.0 in my 2015 over both.

interesting.. lets not forget the 2015 had the 6 speed transmission and current gen has the new 10 speed transmission.

Correct! The driving characteristics of each were even discernible to my passengers. They too felt the 5.0 was much better matched to the 6 speed vs. the 10 speed. That being said, the 2015 with the coyote and 6 speed is still my favorite set up.

He does not like ASS and Cyl Deactivation. Mine didn't come with ASS and Cyl Deactivation you just leave it in sport mode. I find it wild how fast this thing accelerates for NA and it's size. I drop the hammer and it's at 80mph in no time. I will definitely put my Dragy on it when it cools down some more. It's a fun truck and it's not even supposed to be my fun vehicle....lol.

Tow Haul mode keeps it in V8 indefinitely too btw.

I've heard. I have not tried driving it in that mode. How are the shifts in that mode?

Great option. The Sport is sometimes too rowdy for normal driving. People be looking at you waiting for 3 honks...lol

PROOF that "ignorance is bliss" because "I" am truly in bliss with my 5.0

Although... apples -vs- oranges being the case… I suspect that a 5.0 in a 122” Wheelbase is quite a bit different from a 145 to 157″ Wheelbase truck and the EB isn’t an option in a RCSB.

I agree though, the 10 speed requires an extra degree of man-handling when you’re driving it like to stole it.

But… DAMN!

Just picked up my new to me 2021 Lariat 5.0 4x4 3.31 with a 502a package last week. Absolutely love it. I test drove a couple Ecoboosts before and was dead set on getting a 3.5 but after one drive with this 5.0... Sold. I was blown away how different it drove. Its powerful, smooth, quiet and so comfy. Huge upgrade from my 2006 Frontier.

I just picked up my 22 XLT 5.0 this week. Only 200 miles on it so far and taking it easy to break in a bit so haven't really stepped on it but love the sound of this engine. Getting 20+ mpg just running around town so very happy with that. Looking forward to getting more miles and opening it up a bit more!

Ha, ha…

I let my speed daemon buddy drive my RCSB 5.0 when I got it.

We were on a long, straight flat stretch of lonely highway and I told him… “STOMP ON IT”! (I hadn’t even really done that yet)

The look on his face was priceless!

We made it to about 95mph when he let off with plenty of open road, gears and RPM ahead of us.

I don’t know about the “Power Boost”.

I don’t know about the “4-door”.

But the 5.0 in my little, tiny F150 is nothing short of insane.

...enjoy!

2 weeks into the 2022 XLT Sport 5.0, really enjoying the Coyote so far. We’ll see how it goes once I upgrade the mufflers.

YouTube cylinder deactivation. There’s a group that does F-150 videos and apparently very easy to deactivate CD disconnecting a plug going to battery.
