H6 to H8 battery and battery cable fitment

I'd like to get an H8 battery for my 23 STX as it's starting to go to sleep a lot lately and I drive it everyday. My question is will the current battery cable reach? It looks pretty tight the way it sits right now- I'm looking to do this ASAP before it starts snowing, it's already down to the 30's at night. BTW I have the H6 right now. Thanks in advance.

H8 will fit perfectly and if you go Walmart or Costco it's the same price as the H7 anyway.

The battery insulator's are about $30 on Amazon for the bigger one.

On my 2024, all I had to do was cut a couple zip ties because a cable or two were very tight. I also bought the larger insulating blanket for the H8 battery.

I went with an H7 and blanket last winter. Perfect fit and I’ve had zero issues with low voltage since the change.

What is the reason for swapping out for a bigger battery? Mine is 2 years old on a 21 lariat.

The H6 is marginal at best given the demands on the battery. Yet Ford continues to install them.

Did you have to reset anything on the truck when you swapped out the battery?

1) Swapped to the H8 and haven't had a low state of charge issue again. 2) It fit my 22 Lariat with no issues. 3) Yes I did the BMS reset in the Wally World parking lot. 4) Yes I bought the correct sized battery blanket through a recommendation from this forum but I can't remember where. Get an H8 you will not regret this purchase.

Did you lose your radio etc. settings when changing the battery or they stay intact?
