What’s your opinion on this @GrandpaD ?
I
It all depends on what is "missing" is to how much I'll be asking/demanding a price reduction. I'd be less demanding over something like the wireless charging than I would be ventilated seats (my ol bones appreciate the heated seats in the winter). But, bottom line, I paid $70k+ plus so I expect to get what I paid for...anything less I'll pay less even if Ford promises to install it later...

I agree. I ordered a truck with certain features. If they can’t deliver they shouldn’t offer it

They will install the modules after the fact. Porsche has been delivering cars like this for the past year. You will get all features eventually. Only other choice is to not take delivery of the truck and order another one.

I really don't think the article is referring to consumer ordered vehicles.

And this is the problem. Zero communication from Ford. Customers have made orders, in most cases put down a deposit, and Ford has done a terrible job of keeping us informed. A quick email explaining exactly what the plan was would go a long way. Instead we are left guessing based on a paywalled website.

Very true and I'd love to know the priority of the chips. People who ordered Platinum models, months after my order date (9/21) have already received their trucks.

So it sounds like they’ve rescheduled my truck 4 times in hopes of allocating chips and they’re going to build my truck without those chips anyways…

Cool, can I have my 3/21/22 build week back @Ford Motor Company ?

Wishful thinking. Hope you’re right
It's easier to sell a dealer stock vehicle if the consumer knows the truck is missing features when they buy it. When you order a truck, it is basically a contract. You are paying for what you ordered. If Ford ships your ordered vehicle missing features and expect you to pay the full amount...they are going to really damage loyalty. I'm not sure they can legally do this anyway.

Like BlueCruise, or a truck that functions as advertised?

@Ford Motor Company

Care to chime in on this? Would be nice to get information about our trucks that are waiting for chips from the company building them instead of from news reports from behind paywalls?
@fordmotorcompany
It is time you address the countless people who have vehicles with major flaws that the dealers cannot fix and the Ford Company has not fixed for almost 6 months and that Ford does not acknowledge to the buyers who responsibly pay for the vehicles that continue to have major flaws

Just an FYI for folks bumping up against the 'paywall' on the AutoNews articles linked in previous posts:

If you click the "print" icon visible at the top of each article you can see and print the entire article (at least this works on my Windows PC with MS Edge browser; I am not an AutoNews subscriber).
