I actually meant no disrespect to the Ram.
I love American Truck competition.

I just don't see a worthy opponent yet for the mighty Powerboost. :)
And kinda stunned in 2025 there isn't anyone stepping up to the plate.

It's not a niche truck in the numbers game for 1/2 ton. Baffling. I personally believe the shortcomings of Version 1 Powerboost is begging for a one-up.

And if your truck just got built, it is being released at the same time as all of these. Expect significant shipping delays for the next 3 months.
I'm going with the glass half-full on this one and figure there is a plan in place to move all vehicles effectively. Doesn't seem to make sense to move a factory vehicle to the end of the line in a lot rather than just taking it straight from the factory and get it on the road. Wasted time it seems. Also, I would think retail orders would come first. Unless trains and trucks were running at capacity, I would hope they could handle the extra

Maybe I am naive, but I am running with that.

We should have seen it from ford in 23'! They have beefed up internals for the 10r80 ala Raptor R and the lincoln's 101hp/220tq motor sitting behind the 3.5 would only be bested w/ a 15-20kWh batt and a charge port. It would have also helped with their CAFE fleet numbers too. Given the EV fiasco and their pledge to build many more hybrids, I suspect one is coming. Especially given the $7500 tax credit that would have made the powertrain "free". They really failed to come out swinging waiting so long to finally wake up. Now we just have to hurry up and wait.

They could also just run with the standard trans and put a motor in the prop shaft area, simplifying things a bit with the OBIGS configured for HV and 8kW of power, the MHT setup wouldn't be needed.

I'm very skeptical about the claims around those motors especially given the power/boost and longevity. I'm sure they've followed the evolution of the ecoboosts and the issues that have popped up, but new high output motors like that are pretty much guaranteed to have issues pop up. Furthermore the specs seem off for the HO unless they're torque limiting them. (side note: they use 5k psi for fuel pressure vs the 3,500psi the 3.5s -- for gasoline, is the higher pressure diminishing returns?)

420hp/470tq lines up (mostly), but 540hp/520tq for the HO version is off (HO runs forged pistons and reduces the compression ratio of 10.4 down to 9.5).
The 3.5 EB does 400/500tq stock. Tuned it jumps to 540/650tq. Are the 3.0's turbos not able to build enough boost down low -- given it being i6, I'm surprised they didn't use single turbo twin scroll. I'm guessing that they've built the motor to flow up top better / use much shorter intake runners, or they're using engine management to keep the torque out to save the trans. Given they're keeping the 8HP75 trans, and I'm assuming the 75 means 750nm of torque, or 550ftlbs, maybe that's the answer? (though the 3.5 including in the GT magically plateaus at a 550ftlbs rated)

Dunno, just a little skeptical about it being ready for primetime longhaul, and doing so without issue. Rather surprised they went with air/water intercooler though and not air/air. Given intake on one side and turbos on the other w/ straight 6, would have been easy to pipe it. Looks like it's worthy competition. Curious what GM is going to do -- their pushrod V8s have pretty much run their course.

They identified a problem where some components didn't turn off... the same components in the 2023 that did turn off...

Great, so 2024s will be running a beta software, and the customers will be the guinea pigs.

Really makes me want to buy the truck that I have waited 6 months for SO FAR!
...and in 2021...and in 2022...

The RAM Charger is more than stepping to the plate - it looks like it's gonna go yard on its first swing!

The Ram Charger doesn't exist. ?

But it IS an example of what I thought would have been spawned by the success of the Powerboost arriving 4 model years ago.

I'm looking forward to the Ram Charger actually taking sales away from Ford, if you know what I mean. And no doubt in my mind Ford is doing something about it already.

Wouldn't it be fun to know the details of why these trucks were held and what was done to remedy the issue?

We need a mole in Ford...

I’ve read a couple times that there was an issue with some electrical components not shutting off or drawing more power than they should. Apparently the fix was just a software update.

Sure, my point was it would be nice to know what modules and what software version. Be interesting to compare with customer trucks already in the wild... compare and contrast... Help other forum members down the road... just dreaming...
