can you confirm that it is possible to switch tire size in them (even if it’s just to an oem size)

thanks brother
Will do. I'll find out this coming Tuesday. Have to have the shop do the actual download to retain the Ford warranty. I guess my Ford credentials don't mean much unless I'm employed by a dealer. Lol

Any more general feedback on this tune? I've been waiting to see what next week brings as far as discounts.

Sorry, been kinda busy. Tuner is great. Better fuel mileage, better mileage while towing my boat, response and shifting has all improved.
I stopped down at Pauls Automotive as they are local to me and picked up a pair of tuners for me and a friend of mine with the same truck. They have them on the shelf for 645. Yes they are a legit company and have been in business for over 20 years. They said they will happily ship them out if you are not local.
I had them do the install to retain the Factory warranty, which equated to them plugging the tuner in and pushing okay to tune the truck., if thats what it takes to keep the warranty, so be it. You can change gear/tire size in the tuner, along with datalog and add your own gauges to display while plugged in. For me, its worth the money.

I’m at the dealer right now having a little warranty work done. I asked the service advisor if it would void my 7yr/100K Ford ESP warranty and he said absolutely not if it was installed by them. He said he was waiting for Ford to come out with one for his 24 Coyote powered F150.

Thanks for the update. Curious, how heavy your boat is and what mileage are you seeing?

I've been looking for a conclusive answer from Ford on if the Ford Performance Tune will be covered by Ford's ESP. I'm glad to hear of your experience, but I can't help but wonder if that position / policy doesn't vary from dealer to dealer, rather than actually from Ford. I've seen a fair amount of contradictory information on this which makes me think it may just depend on your specific dealer. I am pretty interested in this tune, but I also don't want to throw away the ESP that I paid for. I really wish I had something in writing from Ford confirming this....

Fuel: This topic may have been covered already and I missed it, so apologies if that is the case, but does the tune change the fuel requirements? If I'm not mistaken, I believe the fuel requirements for the stock F-150 3.5 EB is that 87 octane is the minimum, and 91+ is recommended. I think that I read somewhere that with the tune, the 91+ octane changes from recommended to required. Is my understanding correct?

I received my tuner today from Paul’s Automotive. So those of you who have this did all of the updates and computer stuff yourselves and then took the tuner to the dealer/ASE tech and the only part that was required of them was to plug in the tuner and upload the tune? I just wanted to be sure before I updated it myself. As I mentioned before the dealer said I could keep my ESP intact if I let them install it. Should have asked more questions I guess.

Roughly about 5k, give or take fuel and how much of my crap I have in it. It's a Phoenix 921.
My fuel mileage is a bit off because of the 4 inch lift and 33's I run. It averages about 13-14 towing the boat to Cumberland and lake Chickamauga. Daily driving is around 16-17 with some mixed highway in between. I don't travel much in the truck unless my boat is hooked to it and my drive to work is around 8 minutes. Lol

First thing is to open it up and grab the yellow paper with the alphanumeric sequence on it. Take that info over to the performance Ford site and enter it in registering that tuner to you, download the instruction sheet while you're in the site and read it twice.
You can do all the downloads INTO the tuner but don't actually write the tune to the vehicle, that's for the dealer. The instructions cover this marrying the tuner to the truck. You have to do that first before it'll give you the tune file on the performance site.

Bumping this...

Anyone with this tune noticing its possibly gone? well, it might be. I got a daily now so i dont drive my truck often. drove it over the weekend and noticed it didnt have boost like it once did or "guts" haha

I called Ford Performance yesterday and they explained to me how to check and low and behold, my FP tune is in fact GONE!

So i just reinstall the tune right?! NOPE! According to FP once i installed the tune thats it. its installed. i used my tune token.
Im thought i could go back between stock and tuned but they are saying once its installed, i cant do anything else. I'll be honest, have no idea if thats true or not.

Anyway, they asked me to call them back for further help/instruction if my tune was gone which in fact it is. Ill keep everyone posted...

That's really weird crazywayne. I've installed the FP, uninstalled it and then re-installed before on my 2.7. No issues. Looking forward to what transpires between you and FP. Good luck.

I'm pretty sure i was told when i originally bought the tune from Ford Performance i could do what you have said above.

I'd like to try to reinstall the tune but of course, i'm afraid something will go wrong haha
