Ford Converting Order to Job 2

Unfortunately, my understanding is that since you have been scheduled, you are Job 1. No tailgate. Only the unscheduled orders are being converted. You can order another truck, but any price increases between your original order and the new Job 2 pricing will apply.

Yeah, that's what I'm worried about but like I said I've discussed this with the dealer and since I'm working with the Vice President & Chief Operating Officer at the dealer he will take care of me whether it's this truck or he orders a new one. This is my 4th F-150 from him so I'm not worried but I really hope it's on this build and I don't have to wait longer for a job 2 build.

No mention of any price or price adjustment relating to the PA Tailgate as part of the BUP It doesn't affect me but I'm still curious about that.....

They may just roll with it for Job 2 since it has to be part of the BUP anyway. This way they will "upset" the least number of orders. Then they will make it up with any total price increase or model year price change to 2025.

Wanted to let everyone know that I just got off the phone with Chip at Granger (love the communication!). He told me that that Ford is converting all unscheduled Lariat's with the Bed Utility Package (BUP) to Job 2, which would mean I subsequently would get the new Tailgate. He wanted to know if that was preferred or if I would like to remove the BUP to get the old tailgate.

Of course I said I was perfectly happy getting the new tailgate and will keep the BUP.

If you are hard against the new tailgate, I would suggest contacting your dealer about removing BUP or other options you have available.

I got to check it out last weekend at the Chicago Auto Show. I thought it was actually pretty cool and easy to use. I was highly against it when I first heard/saw it online

I was told by Chip at Granger that I wouldn't have to pay any increases but if for some reason the MSRP decreases of course I'd get the new price..

Ordered a 2024 Lariat 5.0 3.73 with all packages.

My dealer called me today and said he put in a new order for me after I told him I saw this post about the Pro Access Tailgate and the Towing Mirrors.

I saw another post that had the MY24 F150 Job 2 Order Guide.pdf attached and saw where these two items were added.

The dealer said they don't call it the Pro Access Tailgate, it's now called the Multi Access Tailgate (I believe that's what he called it but I was at work and not 100% sure), anyhow he said the 54W towing mirrors are now available.

Does anyone know what the dealer is referring to. I'm waiting for the order he placed to be emailed to me but I thought I reach out to the forum to see what they've heard.

Whatever he likes, FWIW on the retail website as of this moment, and in the recently posted Order Guide dated 02/16/24 the term used is "Pro Access Tailgate".

Always subject to change by the marketing mavens I suppose.

Actually right after I wrote that last post I got a copy of the order and it does say PRO ACCESS TAILGATE, so I don't know what he meant. It's really interesting that the forum has more information than the dealer, but I guess I can't expect them to know everything LOL.

Ford Marketing needs to talk with the writers of the 2024 owners manual where it is described as a "Multi-Access Tailgate".
