Ford Converting Order to Job 2

Wanted to let everyone know that I just got off the phone with Chip at Granger (love the communication!). He told me that that Ford is converting all unscheduled Lariat's with the Bed Utility Package (BUP) to Job 2, which would mean I subsequently would get the new Tailgate. He wanted to know if that was preferred or if I would like to remove the BUP to get the old tailgate.

Of course I said I was perfectly happy getting the new tailgate and will keep the BUP.

If you are hard against the new tailgate, I would suggest contacting your dealer about removing BUP or other options you have available.

Woohoo! I am thrilled that I got the option and that I am getting the new tailgate.

Probably the BEST news I've heard on the MY24 F150 in a while. I had no clue the LARIAT was even getting PAT since the Job 1 order guide didn't list it for LARIAT BUP, (only XLT options + Power TG) Not until Tim @ Long McArthur mentioned it. I was right there with you. Back when I ordered in November I was told there was no way to identify that I wanted the PA Tailgate, so I just submitted as if I was getting the regular tailgate. Pleasantly surprised that I ordered the correct options to get the PA Tailgate and that I made it to Job 2.

Just to confirm, you're getting the originally ordered BUP with the new PA Tailgate, and there's no adjustment to your originally agreed cost / price?

If so, congratulations, that's outstanding!

That is my expectation, but at this point I am not sure Chip would even know. I guess I'll find out when the order guide is officially released as that will have any applicable price changes.

I did see that Price Protection is subjective on whether it applies in all cases, so I'll have to see.

Thanks for the reply and I understand (any possible price change as a result of getting the PA Tailgate is not known to you at this moment). I am a bit surprised that Chip wasn't able to be definitive about that when he gave you the 'drop or keep' option regarding the BUP on your original order.

Just FYI, Order Guides (the print version, example attached) don't include any price info (other than a front page with National Discount Packages). Presumably there will be an updated print version Order Guide soon, reflecting the addition of the PAT to the BUP as appropriate.

Price changes are typically communicated separately to dealers very shortly before they take effect, and of course in their online ordering system.

Great news, my 24 Lariat PB is scheduled to start the build 3/11/24. Since my truck is "scheduled" does that mean my order will NOT get converted?

This gate is a MUST HAVE and the dealer agreed with me that if my truck does not have it he will sell it when it arrives and order me another truck.

You are already scheduled so technically you are Job 1, so you would not be getting the PA Tailgate. Job 2 is expected to start next week for builds the will probably start in April.

You should probably talk to your dealer for more accurate info.

Did you order the Bed Util Package? If so, I would place a new order since your scheduled order is a Job 1. Job 2 will be scheduled for April production. I would confirm with your Dealer first as they know way more than I do.

Unfortunately, my understanding is that since you have been scheduled, you are Job 1. No tailgate. Only the unscheduled orders are being converted. You can order another truck, but any price increases between your original order and the new Job 2 pricing will apply.

I just looked at a copy of my order and YES the BUP is a line item on the order.
