FDRS stuck on IPMA update?

I've been working on upating my truck using a SuperGoose Plus and I swear it's been working on the same file for the IPMA module for over 2 hours now. It's been working on the overall IPMA updates for at least 3 hours. The progress bar does move, but as mentioned hasn't deviated from this same file for a long time.

Is this normal? I'm afraid to cancel it, but not sure how much longer I should wait.

IPMA can typically take 3 hours or so, but I thought the Supergoose was faster? Not many people here have one of those. Hope it got sorted.

I let it sit there and munch away for another 2 hours, but eventually cancelled it as it was getting late (11:45pm).

I'm running the IPMA update again now, so I'll update this in 2-3 hours.

So the IPMA update hung at the exact same point as before. In total it sat there for almost 6 hours before I cancelled it.

At this point the truck is throwing a ton of errors, and in FDRS the IPMA module is purple, and a number of other modules are orange. Not sure how big of an issue these will be if i can't get the update to apply.

What's the best approach to try and fix this?

Even the SuperMongoose-Plus, which one would assume is an upgrade over the regular Mongoose since it can do more than just a single manufacturer?

It's crazy to think that I need to go down to spending ~$600 on the regular Mongoose over the $1000 I have in the Super version. No doubting you - just having a hard time wrapping my head around it.

I’ve heard the same story a thousand times from people with cables they say should work fine.

mongoose ford specific is the one that works with Can Fd. That is the IPMA is on.

The mongoose also submits the data correctly to ford. If you have data submission issues it can create bigger problems

I’ve had guys use the various versions of mongoose and come to me with a bricked module. I tell them to get the mongoose and they break down and get it run it one time and it fixes it

If you are convinced it should work I would contact the company and see if there is an update possibly for that cable or confirm with them.

Sorry it didn’t work for you. We went through a lot of issues at the beginning to come to the conclusion the mongoose is the safest and best bet for the money.
Obviously the Ford VCMs will work but those are crazy money.

Purple means it's bricked. Charge up your 12v battery, click the people IPMA module and it'll bring up a list of guided routines you can do on it. Select PMI and when FDRS asks if it is the original module, make sure you select no. It'll take 3 hours.

I've ordered a regular Mongoose, but it won't be here until Thursday. I might try the unbricking procedure with the SuperGoose in the meantime.

I would wait. Like Jesse said: If incorrect data gets sent up to the mothership, it'll make things worse.
