Fan speed button "up" not working

New to me truck, bought a few days ago. 2021 F-150 lariat 502a 52k miles.

My fan speed button turns the speed down but not up.
The fan speed itself ramps up and works on auto and max settings perfectly. But the button itself won't allow me to raise the speed.
I have also noticed there is no backlighting to the fan speed button.

Any idea on where to start trouble shooting this annoying issue?

It appears before I bought the truck, some sort of ac work was performed by the dealer but I don't have history of what was done.

If you just bought it they probably installed the HVAC update to fix AC issues.

My guess would be loose connection inside dash if some things work and other things to not.

Sounds more like an internal issue. I'm guessing a open ground for the switch likely shared with the LED that lights it. If it were the entire unit, that'd be one thing, but a subset of the module itself doesn't sound good.

If you don't have a heated steering wheel, your part number is ML3Z19980C
else it's ML3Z19980K
502 likely has a HSW
