False Update Alerts?

Has anyone else been receiving update alerts that turn out to be false? Over the past few weeks I will periodically get a notification that I have an OTA update pending that will process during my scheduled update window. However, nothing happens during that window and sometimes the alert goes away before the window (i.e. I'll see the update alert when driving to lunch but won't see the alert when I'm driving home from work).

The last successful OTA I received was Jan 24th so I believe I'm still in a good place relative to OTA updates coming to the truck. Just not sure if this is a typical glitch of Sync4 or there is something else going on with my truck. I have a Mongoose cable but don't think there are enough new updates out there to justify getting a license.

Anyone else seen something similar?

Mine keeps "failing" called ford service and they said it might be an "Auxiliary" battery not being charged versus the main battery/ I did not know there was more than one in my 5.0 Lariat? Where?

Mine aren't failing, they are just never applied (if they were even real updates). For your situation I wasn't aware that there was a secondary battery in the 5.0. Worth putting your main battery on a tender to top off before updates though.

I got 6.3.0 a month ago and since then I have gotten one update notification that didn’t occur. My Ford Pass app doesn’t show the 6.3.0 update. I tried deleting the app and reinstalling. Now I no longer have the image of my truck and I am missing all the notifications and it no longer shows any updates. I guess I should have left well enough alone!

Every few days, and usually when I go to Wal-Mart, I get a phantom notification about my most recent update, which installed back in September.

Exact same situation. Last update back in September, only difference is mine show up while near a local meijer! Lol

Try rebooting your phone then check the Ford pass App. mine did the same thing..after reboot it was all back to normal with added stuff

It gets old. Would be nice if the OTAs worked. I’m afraid I’m not brave enough to go the FDRS route, not to mention the cost involved.

Yeah, I’m not so worried about the updates as I am for hoping to get axles for my 4 year old truck before it goes to the bone yard.

lol…..the axle bolts that break and there’s no fix for? My 21 is waiting for that as well!

Thanks! No luck but not a big deal. It hasn’t been the same since they did the big update a year or so ago.
I understand needing to justify your job but they should give you an option to return to the previous app!
