A good exhaust shop can get these to the exact location you want

Not much adjustment at all. I just put a direct fit flowmaster muffler on my BAP Lariat 5.0L and the tips moved further in like yours are. I don't like it. But after spending hours under the vehicle making adjustments, it is only marginally better.

There are two ways to try. Loosen the clamps where the tailpipes meet the muffler and try sliding them out a bit. Not much to gain there at all...maybe 1/2". Or loosen the clamp between the resonator and muffler and try sliding that out a bit. Not much to gain here either. If you try anything, soak the exhaust hangers in WD-40 so they slide in the rubber mounts.
Thank you, I’ll see if I can get any wiggle out of it. Sounds very limited adjustment

This drove me nuts after I installed a Borla midpipe. The tips had zero in/out adjustment for me. I ended up loosening the pipes above the rear axle and using a dead blow hammer to move the passenger side further back about a half inch. I really hate being OCD.
I do too. It keeps me up at night lol

Yep…. Which I don’t want to do. But, probably my best bet to get them where I want them

I understand, years ago had a Dodge that had tips that were a bit too recessed that could be adjusted out anymore. That’s what I ended up doing to get it to look how I wanted it.

If you do figure out a way to get these, tweak to your liking, please do share it for the masses

I was able to adjust mine when I installed the Flowfx muffler. It is a pain but can be done.

So...got it much closer to even. My issue was the passenger side pipe. I freed up the rear-most hanger (by the tip) then loosened the clamp on where it meets the muffler pipes.

Then I noticed it was the tailpipe hanger up near the spare tire preventing the adjustment. Took that off completely, twisted the pipe to get it more aligned (but left it loose) then did final adjustment with the tailpipe hanger to line it up and tightened that down. Then tightened the pipe clamp. Last was that middle hanger. Had to shim it out with a nut and left off the upper bolt altogether.

This hanger, btw...

The nut is between the bottom of the frame and that bolt. The bolt on the upright part would no longer go in because it sits a 1/2" lower now. It doesn't move, so I'm not worried. I think this hanger is overkill, tbh

So I finally had some free time and decided to look at the mid-pipe connection as it’s really the only logical place to adjust how far the tips stick out. Got my Dremel out with metal cutting disk, buzzed off the little stop piece that keeps it locked in place. Once I got that piece removed, I took my 5lb sledge and hit the muffler can and it easily slid the whole system back towards the bumper. I hit it back a little over a 1/4”. I’m sure there’s enough exhaust pipe in that connection to go back a little further. I might hit it out a bit further. But it looks a lot better. There is hope for those that are OCD like me.
