Those of you who have received a MY23 with dual exhaust what axle did you order?? Uncle who works for Ford is telling me my truck is held up because of dual exhaust with the “8.8” axle”? Does anyone know what that means? Do I just need to change the axel on my order?? He’s telling me on hold till May

Mine was built last week but has the 9.75 axle with the 3.73 gear ratio. The 8.8 axle is used for the 3.31 and 3.55 gear ratios I believe.

I wouldn't get 150 w/ a 8.8. Is it 4x4? The front end uses 8.8 for 4wd, the 9.75 is the way to go w/ 3.73s (front 8.8 is not a solid axle however, it's just the size of the ring gear). That puts the least amount of strain on the trans while taking the most advantage of the 10spd.

I can't believe we're now entering the 3rd year of supply chain issues and they still haven't been able to get things sorted out. Deletes started in july of last year and have just continued to get worse. Not looking good. We've got excess capacity here in the states as the PMI is shrinking. Why are they not doing more to leverage more businesses.

Thank you I just found this out from my uncle. Going to have my dealership change this.

Congratulations on getting your truck!! I put my order in 8/12/22 with no VIN still. Called the dealership and had it switched today. Glad to hear that 5.0s are finally getting out there and coming with dual exhaust on the BAP. Hopefully I get an update soon

Looks like you can only get the locking 3.73 in the 5.0 if that's the motor you're getting. Ford's configs are such a mess. They should just use the 3.73 down the board with locking or not. They overly complicate things for no reason. This was relevant in the 4 speed days, and each additional gear it became less and less relevant. It's got 3 overdrive gears...

3.73 is what you want for torque at the wheels. No matter what you're doing, the transmission has an easier time doing it with the higher rear end gear ratio.

Yes the 5.0 is the motor I ordered. Thank you for this info.
